Bernd updated ETK 800 *Sedan* with a new update entry: Wings n' fixes Read the rest of this update entry... --- Post updated --- Don't blame the staffs for the approval taking so long, I did two "mistakes" (The alert reader will find one of them in the update entry). It's "smooth" and "saloon" now...saloon 'cause I forgot to rename it to something else yesterday.
I've noticed that the trunk in the 846 tt Sport vibrates. And for some reason it only happens in the automatic version. WIth the manual one you have to pay attention to notice it. @Bernd
@Gregory TheGamer told me that he'll do some for the ETK in general. They'll fit the sedan then ofcourse. --- Post updated --- Thank you, I'll look into that once I'm back at my PC. --- Post updated --- That's true.
Appereantely the pizza trunk is aggressive, it 'causes the right inner trunklight to break no matter what you do after some time....there is definitely some force in the beams that also causes the front part to lift up. I guess it's worse on the automatic since you have more shifts that result in a more shaking car. Problems that only appear with the wing though...wired. I'll still do one...two coupes are better than one, right? --- Post updated --- soon at .drive
This is good, but that rear end is a tad bit too low in comparison with the front, which completely throws off the entire thing and makes it look weird. I have yet to see a real modern saloon with a rear as low as that... The work you've done is great and I appreciate it, but I just can't like the design the way it is right now. Comparison between this mod and the E90:
small bug ... i think: the taillight just burst when i was lightly drifting. idk if it is a bug but ill bring it up IT HAPPENED TWICE!!!!!
I never noticed that xD, but I'll look into that. That's on the known bugs list already, but thank you anyways. It won't happen when you use a trunk without the wing, so the question is...style or safety? I don't know about the sedan/saloon thing, first someone said "saloon" to make it not so BMWish, then someone said "Sedan" 'cause the original BMWs are called that way, then I simply forgot to rename them to "Sedan" before uploading, and now I'm still not sure how to name them, but next update is away some time( except a hotfix for the trunklights maybe), so there is some time to think about that. I'd love to do a poll, but unfortunately that's not possible anymore. --- Post updated --- I'd just put both over another to see how it looks - the BMW 3er is higher overall in the rear part. My intention is not to make a BMW though, and I like how it looks, but I see your point. I think moving the taillights will already do something about it.
The BMW E90 was just a random pick from me, since it looks highly similar to the ETK on profile. But my point is, check any 4-door saloon(Audi, Mercedes, Honda, Hyundai, etc) and you'll see how every one of them has a rear-end either a little higher or at least the same height as the front-end, and at most it slopes down a tiny little bit while keeping the height pattern. The problem I see on your mod is how the trunk starts already lower then the front, which as I mentioned earlier, completely throws off the design. I'm not forcing you to possibly have to remake the whole thing though, I'm just explaining to you how it looks weird now and how it could look much better and more "natural". Again, you still did a good job on this, and it's as fun to drive around as much as the default wagon.
With the BMW engine mod for the ETK this fits amazingly well. It just requires swapping the unibody out on the wagon with the new engines and then you basically have a BMW M3 at your disposal.
Well..the thing is that it looks good to me (and apparently to most people, too), but I thought it might look better, so I moved the parts up 3cm (that's just a 10 minute thing for the shape btw). Left picture old, right new. Tell me what you prefer, guys, or if it dosen't matter! C-pillars shape has to be improved, of course. And 3cm is not enough maybe...donno.
