So whats your guys thoughts on the new X series (Pascal) GPUs such as the X80, X80 ti , and the X80 Titan?
I keep thinking, "this will be the last graphics card I'll buy." Got a 970, I thought I'd be set for years. Now Pascal comes along with HBM 2 and a bunch of other features and suddenly I'm saving money again. Why do I do this. I'll probably get a GTX X70 or GTX X80 if they live up to their hype. Then again, most things don't live up to their hype (case in point: 3.5/4GB)
Technology is more addictive than crack. Perhaps the Titan's will finally become mass market affordable. As a laptop owner I feel somewhat shielded from the mental insanity of new 10 core Broadwell-E's and GTX X80i madness. I'm definitely not immune though, just one tech article and I'm off and running with plans for a bleeding edge $6K+ desktop...again.
We just have to see which are better. I'll get either a GTX 1070 or an R9 490. Btw, is there anything to do with an old R7 240 or an even older HD 6850?
