So im running a amd fx 8350 at mostly 4.0 ghz (4.5 when oc) and i have noticed something weird. The game only uses 5 cores. 3 cores are left in the dust running at 0% speed. The other 5 are running at everything from 20% to 60%, and mostly 2-3 are at 60% and the rest at 20%. Why is that? In the requirement it says 8 cores are the best. My gpu is also running at everything from 50% to 80%, which is weird. does anyone know why it wont use all the cores, and at a higher percentage?

GPU is amd 7950 BTW :) (it is recommended in the wiki)

I put the HD 7950 in the wiki :D as I can play the game on max settings at 60+ fps, but I'll probably change it because someone with a 7850 could play on max settings as well, all you need is a CPU that can handle the physics and not slow down the game. As for the optimization I don't know, there are some programs out there that use all 8 cores efficiently and beat most intels, but they are rare, so I wouldn't have much hope on that. Hopefully we will all see some improvement when they release the x64 version of the game.

I know of a few games that uses all 8 cores: Crysis 3, bf4 (AMD special optimization), far cry 3 ? (Not 100% sure), and most editing programs :) BF3 uses 6 cores.

I am running this game on a laptop that isn't nearly as fast as the computers this game recommends, (yet still faster than I need for the games i usually play, Minecraft, Terraria, Trackmania Nations Forever, etc.) and i would like to still be able to run the game in later updates. What I'm saying is, please keep the settings so that you are ABLE to turn them down as low as they can be turned down now, and if they are updated, then hopefully it will just have an OPTION of making the graphics higher, rather than the graphics getting better to the point where I can't run the game anymore.

I am using the Lenovo G780 laptop, with Intel Core i5-3230m 2.6 GHz, 6GB RAM, and a NVIDIA GeForce GT 635M with 2GB dedicated video memory.

(I don't actually know much about all the stuff i just mentioned, i am just listing what i found and know is hardware information)

Rigs of Rods uses all available cpucores, no matter if there are 2 or 16 ;)

It used to. I wouldn't argue with one of the RoR developers. :p

Just wondering what one of those super computer processers are like. Me personally have never had a problem using an old adm a8 with 4 cores It has ran every thing iv thrown at it with decent stetting and at 50 fps or more iv ran things like KSP Beamng of course and many other large open world games people say it isn't enough to run beamng but iv had no problems maybe im just lucky to have a gaming computer the was only used for quick books before I had it. Dads are funny buying a gaming computer for quick books lol.

Super computer processors are Xeons normally and they are very specialized pieces of equipment, I have probably one of the more powerful CPUs here an i7-5960X I know some people do use Xeons but I have one of the more powerful SINGLE CPU systems here, and I get 120fps+ but I do run a GTX980Ti so I have lots of power in that, but since this is an AMD matter not an Intel matter my point really isnt that valid, the game uses something like 1 core per car from what I remember I could be wrong (feel free to rip this post apart and correct me if its needed in future I welcome it!)
