Hi guys! I am thinking of fixing this mod I found from a unofficial Beam mod website. The link for the mod is here : http://www.worldofmods.com/beamng/cars/14517-plymouth-belvedere-1965.html I am thinking of fixing the glass breaking and altering the JBeam structure to fit it like a glove. Those are the pictures which I have taken from the site. Those are the pictures from the Interior and Engine. Could someone help put my .json file into the car's zip file and replace the old broken glass texture with my new ones? I just don't want to mess it up I need all help possible and hope you will fix this with me!
Thanks @TheCookieGamer62 ! Have you tried the mod yet? Any suggestions on what to improve? --- Post updated --- By the way feel free to tinker with the mod abit
So? It's not the end of the world just because it is from a russian site. TBH if I ever feel like getting some mods that's not from the forum, that's where I go, and I've never experienced any problems.
@Dave Warrener I haven't tested it just yet, but will tomorrow. I have packed my steering wheel up, and can't be bothered pulling it back out.
These mods usually need lots of fixing and sometimes, make sure to read up on the wiki you can find information on how jbeam works and reference things http://wiki.beamng.com/Portal
Hey @Dave Warrener, I have a few suggestions. 1. Could you make the driveshaft a bit stronger, because if you you go to do a handbrake turn it breaks. 2. Could you make it so that the hood and trunk don't open when the hand brake is pulled because its really annoying. 3. Could you try to make the lights work and the gauges work. 4. Could you try and make a few more variants and add pictures to them. 5. Could you also remove any unnecessary files and jbeam for things that aren't there. Example the push bar. it isn't there and yet there is an option to select. I know that there is a lot of things there but I feel with these suggestions, this mod could be absolutely brilliant.
You're basically asking for people to do your work. If you can't add a file to a folder then I have doubts that you can fix the mod seeing that the base jbeam is hella outdated
One of the majors issues with this mod is that the mesh has been obviously stretched to fit the borrowed jbeam, so it looks really cartoonish, too much compact car. Look at photos of the real Belvedere, you'll see it's a far longer and larger car. It's the same issue with the Dodge Polara that the same author released at the same time on the same site, it's only a lot more visible on the Polara. Really lazy work.
To explain further what i ment above, here are the specs of the real car : lenght : 203.4 inches, 515 centimeters width : 75.1 inches, 190.5 centimeters height : 55 inches, 139 centimeters Here the value i took on the DAE : lenght : 490 centimeters width : 181 centimeters height : 147 centimeters So the car has been reduced lengthwise and widthwise, while being much higher that the original car and while looking like a lowrider, with the floor next to the ground. With regular suspension look, this compacted car would be more than 150 cm high. So this should definitly ensure you that there is lot of work on the mesh and the jbeam to go back to original specifications of the car, and make it deform, drive, pretty.
