Ah, I used to watch these videos a long time ago and forgot how to find them. Thanks for the link. As for the topic, I did get this one virus called "uPlay". Chose not to get rid of it though since it doesn't only affects one game I have.
Welp, Back in 2011, (When I have Windows XP) I got a FBI Money Hack thing, All I did was downloaded a song, and then the FBI Money thing happened when I played the song. So my dad got a Windows XP Professional Edition (64-bit) and installed it so to avoid the FBI Money. Second one which is a BSOD (Blue screen of death) In 2014, (Windows 8 Pro) I went to type in my homework on Microsoft Office Word 2008, and I press a key and the BSOD occurred, I don't know why, but I never saw it again. Third one, last year (2015) I was booting up my Windows 10 until it says, "C:/Windows/system32 Not Found Or Deleted. Please Reinstall Windows." I can't install another Windows 10 because it was an upgrade from Windows 7, I found my Windows 8.1 disk in Jan 2016, never used it though so I ran though the setup, and the hard disk is a MBR, and I can't convert it into a GPT, so I had no choice, and go to CMD, and do DISKPART /clean Disk 1. And that's how I end my old computer life...
Uhh, I used to get one every once in awhile when I was a kid. That's about it. Oh, once I had to reinstall Windows after installing Avast which fucked everything up. That's when I stopped using Avast.
you'd be surprised, I know someone that thought it was legit software that would speed his internet up by unlocking the true speed of DNS lookups or something utterly retarded. Still, I got a few bottles of cider for reinstalling windows for him. Aspall too, good stuff. There we go, want to repay me for a favour and dont want to do cash. Aspall organic cyder or Hooch alcoholic lemon brew. That'll tide me over
I don't even remember what it was I downloaded... apparently it hitches a ride on legit stuff like maybe a mod from this website or something, idk. I can use this website without ads though so I can install mods on my desktop just fine, and play multiplayer games as well, but anything else is screwed
2 years ago me believed this fake " Your Adobe needs to be updated!" ads. One system scan later, I was free of 20 viruses.
I feel bad for the old people or non-computer-savvy people who get tricked into installing malware n' stuff with seemingly legit popups and sites.
pretty sure that same thing happened to me a long time ago. didnt get 20 virus from it though, only got 1 or 2.
Long time ago (very long time ago) I had a friend use his USB stick in my PC. As soon he plugged that thing, a shutdown countdown started. When I tried to reboot the PC, some boot files were missing. Wasn't tech-savy back then, so I was completely clueless of what happened. Since then, I rarely/never let people use their USB on my stuff.
Nice friend, huh? I remember a long time back I got a virus on my dad's pc that deleted a few files everytime the PC rebooted. However, no boot files.
Just recently I fell for some fake download (which I didn't even expect myself to do) which disguised itself as something else, the moment I open the installer it begins installing all kinds of crap, windows starts warning me of viruses and all, then it proceeds to restart itself. A bit of research on the internet later, I found it was some japanese virus that installs a bunch of adware, sometimes locks you out of your computer but luckily I removed that before it managed. A bit of uninstalling, system scans with Malware Bytes and Advanced System Care later, and a sweep of the registry, and I guess i'm set now, nothing malicious running in task manager. Keep in mind my only antivirus is Advanced System Care, and some scans I do with Malware Bytes (which I highly recommend!) every now and then, I haven't had a need for antivirus programs since I can usually tell what's a dodgy program or not. (except that one half asleep night.)
The last time I got a virus was right before I upgraded my system from Windows XP a few years back. Every site I went to (Including BeamNG) was full of advertisements that make you want to download something, most of them said "Ads by Media View." Spoiler: Details The advertisements came up in different ways. 5 to 10 ads would come up as soon as I open a page in random places. A lot of words would be double-underlined and green, hovering over them makes another ad come up. It made the browser(s) unstable and YouTube wouldn't play. Sure enough, Avast found a malware called Media View. I don't remember how I got the virus.
I've had defender pick up on one malicious file and malwarebytes 2. I've had my own computers since I was 8. I'm now 21. Avoiding malware is not a hard task by any means.
I agree, I've only had 1 virus after downloading from an obviously virulent site (when I was younger)
lol - I downloaded I'd say about 10 viruses on a laptop when I was a kid, I 100% believed those 'ur p-see is infectted' messages back then. I love Malwarebytes. Great program. I can usually tell if those downloads are fake or not (they usually are), although like you when I'm almost falling asleep my brain usually thinks all of them are real Yes, that Murano CrossCabriolet is a virus. Not a computer virus, but rather a society virus. I'm sure we've all seen this fantastic review of the CrossCabriolet: "Well, sorry Nissan!"
Once when I was retarded and very, very young mind you... I tried to torrent more ram [facepalming just thinking about it], so my pc got infected with a virus that made it so every action would hide the taskbar and you'd be required to manually right click it back up agian, you then had one mouse-stroke before it would repeat the same trickery. I was also victum to redirection viruses where you'd just be on the internet and one day out of every year our family computer would get infected by a redirection that would send you to what looked like an antivirus made by microsoft but was really malware that would auto-download and install [xp-days] to your pc, then it would install 100s of trial anti-malware to make you pay to get rid of it one way or another. Of course me and my brother back in the day never had too much trouble removing the crapware. -Sorry for garbage grammar I'm tired and need sleep- I've not had viruses of any kind for over a year, the last virus I'd had was bloatware that would force your search engine to garbage until you removed the "Virus" from it's registry which I had 3 times over the years and obtainted them at random. However threat worthy viruses are now very easy to avoid in my opinion.
