As the title suggests I have set rally friendly roads around a forest/farming terrain. Plenty of variety with fast, twisty, narrow and wide open roads. There is also a bitumen section inspired by the British rally hedgerows This map was inspired by and tested with meepbobs awesome AWD Covet mod if you haven't downloaded it yet I highly recommend it. Re: Forrest Rally I am so glad to see some rally courses showing up, thanks for your work! Rally is by far my favorite type of racing and fits so well with this physics simulation; the Dirt series can't compare for pure rally.
Re: Forrest Rally Hey, a fellow EVE player. Anyway, this map is really fun to explore, I like all the extra details you added like the farm buildings with roads leading to them. The only complaint I have is that the main asphalt roads just... end. You're racing along the main road and then suddenly flying into oblivion. Other than the randomly ending roads, the map is great, I have been rallying around in the Ibishu Covet, which is fun. But sometimes the roads feel like I'm driving on ice (particularly the turns where the ground is leaning away from the center of the turn, but I probably just suck at rallying, so ignore me).
Re: Forrest Rally I didn't really want to map based around the main roads they are really to connect the dirt sections and ad some context. I was going to block them off so you could not fly off the map but i liked to WTF factor when you blasted through the trees. As for the "icy" roads I used a number of different road textures and they all seem to grip differently, one of them is rather slippery.
Re: Forrest Rally Oh yeah, just noticed that the fields seem to be very slippery when I drifted through grass for about 200 meters... I think it might be better if you made there be some sort of penalty for driving in the grass, maybe very bumpy, like in the built-in maps, it's quite difficult to drive in the fields (on the built-in maps) unless you're driving the off-road pickup. I also saw that you blocked off one or two of the roads leading into nothingness, which was nice, but whatever.
Nice Design in terms of Flora! But just to leave some Feedback: For my personal Taste the Rally Track does offer too less sight onto the Track while driving, with other words there are to much Passages where you can't see which way the Track will take in the next 100-200 meter, while i already use the following Camera and not the Cockpit Camera. Also, this Trollroad throwing you out of the Map is not my Thing.^^
Looks nice and i could not find mutch flaws apart from a few gliitchy textures and the road into nowhere.
