Re: -{Swift Islands}- Public Alpha Released!! Some little things that bother me are how the roads are so rough. I plan to clean them up more in the future but hopefully I can get good at building smooth curves and such. Gonna need it for some of my ideas for the big island. Also I got sick of adjusting the vegetation so if it still looks like its obviously planted trees and not natural I'll get around to adjusting them in the future.. And the off road tracks are meant to be rough. Those who participated in the private alpha will notice I did some small sdjustments to each of the hill climbs. Making some harder and some a little easier. If u notice anything I should fix let me know.
Re: -{Swift Islands}- Public Alpha Released!! Nice map man I just played on it for a while and didn't notice anything wrong
Re: -{Swift Islands}- Public Alpha Released!! Awww I missed the closed alpha Well anyways I'm downloading the map as I write this and after that I'm going to try it out and look for bugs, glitches and such. Will give some feedback later or tomorrow, I'll see how much time I get from real life
Re: -{Swift Islands}- Public Alpha Released!! Cant load up the map Getting allot of ERRORS and my game crashes - - - Updated - - - Need help! Getting allot of errors and the game wont start It just crashes!
Re: -{Swift Islands}- Public Alpha Released!! That's strange, did you unzip the file in the correct directory.
Re: -{Swift Islands}- Public Alpha Released!! Just tested the map a bit: The concept is pretty awesome, I love that. But: The roads are a bit too bumpy, but just slightly. The roads are too narrow. It may be just me here, but if you can make the street 50% wider it would be perfect.
Re: -{Swift Islands}- Public Alpha Released!! Bumpy roads are just something we will have to live with until we can get the other road tool to work. I spend most of my time trying to smoothen them out. And the roads are the width I'd prefer. They are a small 2 lane road that resembles real life roads.
Re: -{Swift Islands}- Public Alpha Released!! Ah I see, nothing can be done with the road smoothness for a while. The problem is that the cars are harder to control ingame than in real life, especially for those who are keyboard only ( which is probably the majority of the players). Having real life-like roads are much less forgiving in BeamNG as it currently stands, with the badly responsive controls and the much bumpier roads. But, you know, it's your map, so it's up to you if you want the width as it is or if you want to consider changes.
Re: -{Swift Islands}- Public Alpha Released!! The width is slightly tight but its realistic. I use a width of 7. A Screenshot of some progress on the larger island will show that you can fit two cargo vans on a bridge Sorry for taking so long to post something new, this bridge was built from the ground up and has taken some man hours from me. This is not a final product but a preview of what it could be . And yes i built the bridge.. I want you guys see some new things, try to make this map original as possible.
I'm sorry guys for no updates life has been getting in the way of my gaming time.. I'll be working on finishing the map though as soon as I get on my PC. There is still plenty of work to do though so don't give up on me .
Well, the hault on the progress of this map is because my 6950 died on me >:[.... I'm trying to get some progress done with the HD4000 but its being more a nuisance than I can handle. Trying to get a 7970 or 7950 soon though. I will say this though and its very good news to fans of the map! I'm figuring out the trick of the trade to the map editor. I'm making the roads alot smoother but its a very long and tedious project.
Been working my arse off at work, thankfully i just upgraded to a 770. I'm loosing interest though in my map :/.. Havent had much time and the roads just drive my nuts, tired of the bumpyness in the roads, i have invested hours into the roads and still wind up with lots of dips and bumps. And textures like to give me a bad day every once and a while.
My truck enjoys these It looks pretty too, I shall try it out. Anything someone put time into is worth spending time enjoying.
Thanks for trying it out! Its going to be a while before the map will be completely finished. I just started a new project I think most of the community will love.
