So if I am making a demolition derby car or dirt race car, will we will be able to gut the interior of the car? And also will there be exploding cars if you put enough damage on the car?
A car does not explode in real life, no matter what. So it will most likely never explode in BeamNG either. Gasoline and diesel just burns, it does not explode.
when there is a leak in the tank and the gasoline evaporises into lets say the cabin, and it mixes with air. and it has a good mixture of evaporised gasoline and o2 and when there is a spark. than the gas mixture burns and expands so fast, that there happenes something called an explosion. yes normally this wont happen, but it is possible. and i dont think the beamng powered game will have explosions. hovever it would be cool. sorry for my bad english
Actually cars do explode, but in case if GAS-Propan equipment installed in a car. This gas equipment in most cases installed in the trunk of any light car, and in case of severe rear impact it can explode and totaly destroy a vechicle. Here is some photos and video of road accidents, in which gas-propan destroyed some cars.
True. It's so rare for a car to explode. Why would they spend so much time including explosions into the game if they are such a rare occurrence? It would certainly look cool, but it would be too much effort for such an unlikely event.
well, when was the last time you saw a pinto blow up? never. thats because everyone got rid of theirs when they found out.
Maybe I should have researched first before making a thread like this. Might as well lock this thread.
that was just the fuel tank being ruptured and the fuel igniting which is quite common, but there was no explosion.
erm, an explosion is the rapid expansion of a fluid. Its so violent that it transmits it's energy in the form of a shock wave that generally moves faster than sound. Combustion is merely the rapid oxidization of chemicals with the production of heat and light. You can use combustion to cause an explosion but they are not the same thing. Out of curiosity, do they not cover that in high-school physics over there?
That Ford Pinto('s fuel) experienced deflagration, not an explosion, nothing blew out, it just burnt really fast. The only way to explode a car is to pack it with explosives. It may also be theoretically possible for a ruptured gas tank to cause an explosion but the correct fuel-air mixture in a contained space is so incredibly unlikely there is no point in dreaming about it. (btw Hati: explosions are specifically subsonic, detonations are supersonic. (think gunpowder vs C4, a thick thud vs a sharp smack, in contrast someone standing near that Pinto wouldn't feel anything except heat))
Oh, well what's your source for knowing that the van wasn't carrying for instance a bunch of gas tanks? Cars burst into flames, they don't explode
remember when Dodge cars hade a problem that makes them explode ? it happened when the Dodge car (specific one) got hit in the rear bumper well he got his left (or right im not sure) it would cause an explosion. So i think whe should be able to explode cars but only during a specific crash. For exemple: the car got to brake with a poped tyre/missing door i don't know so random stuff that whould make an explosion like the Dodge's cars back in the days... P.S. Im french sorry for bad english
