Hi, thank you all for the nice comments! Im back from work, and start to work on this now. @Dan1035: I also thought about Patriot first, cause I played GTA for ages (Collectors Edition for GTA-V is already ordered ) @qingu8: Yeah, I like Governator, maybe Governator G1 like Mythbuster suggested, its my favourite atm... @gabester: BBORING could be quite funny... I hope this vehicle wont be too Bbbooooring... @dkutch: Hummer H1 is exactly what I dont want, everyone would expect a 100% accurate H1... @Cwazywazy: I had something like that in my mind, cause Im working for a gamestudio so I know such Licenseissues quite good, but I just like gabesters Style, thats why I decided to not make an accurate H1, and, it gives you the ability to put in some own designed stuff @squat251: I like your suggestion, but my favourite is the Governator G1 atm. @Mythbuster: Well, I always try to keep the polyflow in a good way, theres still many room for improovements on the mesh at this state, normally I hold the polys as low as possible, but for nice deformations of the chassis, Ill add a bit more polys than usual for this vehicle So, again, thank you all for your Comments and Suggestions! I Think there will be a nice little update later this evening. Thanks! -Johnny Edit: @Goliith: I took the dimensions of the real H1 for my version, so dont worry, youll get your wheelbase
Dammit! I'm just as bad as the person I was criticizing. I would try to come up with another one, but my head hurts too much right now.
The Hummer-like vehicle in GTA is called the Mammoth Patriot. Just for kicks I would totally name this one the Patriot Terrorcrusher in a parody of hilariously over-the-top American nationalism, but that's just me.
Hi again, heres a little update: (imported from here) (imported from here) (imported from here) (imported from here) Suggestions/Comments/Critics are welcome! -Johnny
Here's a name suggestion: Hoover FXV-1 Looks good so far, I like it. Keep it up Hopefully you're planning to make the rear lights different than on the H1, however. I hate how they're so generic...
Man that looks amazing, can you maybe make a topless version? I've seen a "H1" topless and they look badass
Hi there, little update on the Governator G1: Ive cutted the doors and the windshield, next steps will be the window on the back of the cab, the hood needs some air-intakes and details on the whole cab, lot of details. Modelingfever got me, so I think there will be some news about the Governator G1 soon. (imported from here) (imported from here) @FastClassic: Thanks Could you please give me an little inspiration on what would like as rearlights? @JackBegley: I thought about Crashtestdummies Ill maybe add to the interieur... @Peetar27: Thanks Yes, a Topless version will be included. @Nevada: Thank you very much, nice pictures! Im trying to make some of them. Thanks! -Johnny
Knock Knock, little update again: (imported from here) (imported from here) (imported from here) (imported from here) Very basic start of the interieur and not much details to the cabin yet, I think Ill take care of the frame/underbody as next steps, so I can figure out how the enginebay and drive shaft tunnel have to be done so they fit to the rest of the truck. Comments/Critics/Suggestions are welcome. -Johnny
I was thinking lights in the style of the chevrolet C10's tail lights, just with a more modern, rounded appearance. Couldn't find any pics of exactly what I was thinking, so here's a similar one: http://image.classictrucks.com/f/28...68_chevy_c10_pickup_truck+custom_tailgate.jpg Note - couldn't post the image since I'm on the mobile site... EDIT: Actually, something like the lights on this, just vertical instead of horizontal.
you are awesome for naming this the Governator, huge fan of Arnold Schwarzenegger, he owns the very first civilian model H1 from 1992
In fact, it is Arnold directly who is responsible for us lowly civvies getting Hummers at all. His initial purchase spured the company on to making a civilian model, and when that was a commercial success GM picked it up (and then promptly ruined it by redesign.)
Hi, sorry for the long time without updates, had a lot work, some private stuff to take care about and so on. Anyway, I was working on the frame and front suspension of the Governator G1, the suspension turned out quite tricky, so Ive redone it, and Im redoing it a second time now (slowly starts to go on my nerves). So, I have nothing whats worth to be shown at the moment, I just want to let you know that the Governator G1 is still WIP. I just hope that my third attempt on the front suspension turns out as something useable and not too bad looking. @FastClassic: Ill try to make something good looking, dont know yet if its possible to make lights as chooseable parts, if it is possible, I maybe will make some different head- and taillights. @Hachiroku92: The name wasnt my idea, full credit for the Governator G1 is going to qingu8 and Mythbuster. @irock365: Yes, maybe Ill get a hand on that again, shouldnt be a big problem. -Johnny
Maybe I don't know anything about making vehicles in this game, but don't you have to have the hood separate from the body? As I said, I don't know anything about making things in this game... >.>
