Very Nice Buggy, but i think you have a severe issue somewhere. This is causing way to much lag for a buggy (The Gavril T series performs better.), 16FPS here on Gridmap. With the other buggy's for this game i get 45+

Its not as detailed as the default vehicles so there's probably nothing I can do.
    --- Post updated ---
Maybe other mods you installed are getting in the way or clear cache?

I am not an expert on modding so stuff like fps and vehicle not showing there's nothing I can do. At least someone that's an expert tell me the cause because I don't know.

I think the way your suspension is set up probably has something to do with the lag, not to sure though

Just in case you don't check pm's. I sent you a PM with some fixes in it, although that was prior to the most recent update. If you want me to explain any of the fixes that I had made so you can find a way to implement them into your current build feel free to ask.

Sorry I havn't done anything to this buggy in a while, was working on other projects like the vortexx and maps and was taking a break from modding in general. I tried @aljowen's modified version of the sandstorm and it was a little oversteery. I modified the modified version to make it handle better and now I'm thinking to update this one last time and make it no longer beta since its kinda completed.

Ummmm bad news everyone. The latest update absolutely broke the sandstorm (at least for me) what I mean broke, I mean severe fps issue broke, 5 fps. I doubt its the mod that caused it. That really sucks because I was gonna add the fps friendly version of the wheels. Sorry buys, I guess the current version is the final update. Its really weird too because its not doing it to any other of my mods.

Well, I did some digging in the files, and I think I found the source of the problem, and maybe a solution.

When looking in console, the source of the lag seems to be from the metric ***ton of console spam about "bla bla bla parkingbrake bla bla bla..."

So, while looking for a potential candidate for the offending parameter, and I learned something interesting.
The sandstorm doesn't have a differential; it's wheels are it's differential. Its a jbeam block of tangled wires and spaghetti, and as a modder and rookie jbeamer, it made my skin kinda crawl reading it**, and as it seems, it makes the games skin crawl as well, because when all "pressure wheels" parameters are removed and differential params are kept, the fps goes to normal.

SO, the overall solution here seems to be to separate the wheels and the differential into 2 different parts, rather than an all-in-one solution.

**keep in mind, all jabs, pokes, and insults are jokes and are not to be taken seriously

Hmm, I tried separating the parts but it still lags like its ineffective. I am so stumped. If you can if it still works could you send the working files through pm?

Well it isn't "working"; it spawns without wheels. But it doesn't have low fps

I finally found the fix for the sandstorm. I am gonna make a big update for it later but for now here is the temporary fix for it.....
For a temporary fix, just open the main jbeam file with notepad++ and remove the deform groups in the flexbodies. (I didnt know deform groups breaks it, I was experimenting and didnt notice its still on there.)

So yah, its no longer dead, for now just do that till I make the big update.
Now here is the sneak peek of the small redesign I worked on yesterday.

There are a couple things changed so try and find it.
I hope you will enjoy the sandstorm once again and I will update this post for more, although it wouldnt be much because the lost motivation and I am moving(again) to an appartment in a few days. Thank you so much for your patience. :D

The redesign may be comeplete. here is what it looks like.
    RGSandstorm.gif
The bumper is from the vortexx but looks really cool.
Also I may also bring the original(small short wheelbase version) back as a seperate vehicle if you want. I had uploaded it as a small short wheelbase originally then lots of people have been saying make it long wheelbase. I like small vehicles to be honest and now we will have it back maybe. Instead of 2wd in the original wheelbase version it will be 4wd like this current version.

Go to the jbeam file using notepad++ and remove the deform groups from the flexbodies, that is a temperery fix till the official updates fixes it which wouldnt be a while.

I find the initial set off in this vehicle stuttery. Like, it doesn't keep a constant smooth rpm when accelerating. Found the same thing in the Vortexx you released, is this a game issue or something you're aware?

Much improved otherwise over the previous version though, thanks for updating it!

My current theory is that the stuttering occurs when the axle + diff nodes do not weigh enough for the amount of wheel Torque. I haven't tested on this vehicle, but it may be a good place to look.
