I just put a home made glasspack muffler on my old Bowlens snowblower. It sounds a lot nicer now.

The joys of a $200 car..

Took me 3 tries to open the hood today, easily took an hour total. Emptied the power steering reservoir because the level was below minimum, might as well replace the fluid because I had to buy a full bottle. Filled it with Amsoil ATF (Dunno why, but it takes ATF) and that's all good now. Clamped on a loose line on the fuel rail, messed with the airbox, etc.

I hope to post a photo soon once the camera starts working again. I have a 2002 Suzuki DR200, it is in beautiful shape and was very clean, until I made a mistake of taking it in some backwoods trails that were muddy. I spent the rest of the afternoon cleaning it off and polishing it off so it could be the pristine and clean motorcycle it is. I just got it back from the Suzuki dealer due to the vacuum Gas petcock malfunctioned which caused the gas to run by gravity, thus filling the engine with a gallon of gasoline and hydrolocking it.

I just love my Dual Sport motorcycle when my car fails to please me.

taking the MSF class made want a fun little bike like that. i rode a tu250x and the one cylinder engine was a blast. much more agile in low speed scenarios than my big old '88 cbr.

I tried a Honda CB750 before I got the 200, the CB was a blast however the four cylinders were a little too much power for a guy of my size. My 200 was cheaper too, I paid $2,500 for it rather than paying $6,700 for a big old Honda street bike. I also see TU250Xs around where I live, that is weird due to how much snow and rain I usually get. The DR200 can run in nearly any weather, it just rather likes to not start in -6 Celsius.

Well, started hearing my bike's rear brake scraping metal against metal. :( There must be something wrong with the caliber because I changed my brake pads about a year ago and now they need to be replaced again. (unless they were shitty soft pads because I ordered them from internet because local parts shop don't have the bike in their catalogs) Luckily the disc haven't suffered much damage so I don't need to replace that.

Modified my airbox today. These Volvos have a hot air intake, a little 1.5" hose that sucks air from over the exhaust manifold. This is supposed to help the car warm up faster, for emissions reasons. There's a little thermostat in it with a flapper on the end that's supposed to flip from blocking the big cold intake to blocking the hot intake when it warms up. Took this flapper out and heated the end with a butane torch and it didn't budge. This means that my car has been getting hot air from a tiny hose. I deleted the hot intake and modified the cold one a bit. Seems to have a bit more power now, can't really tell for sure. Also moved my hood a bit so now it can be opened without tools, but the lines look off again when its closed. Oh well. Earlier today I dumped a bit of Marvel Mystery Oil in the engine, because why not. This evening I did an oil change after driving around for awhile. Got the old black oil out fine, but the filter had to be stabbed with a screwdriver. Put in my new fancy Bosch filter and dumped in some 15w40 Rotella. Then when I dumped the drain pan into the oil jug, I saw the damn drain plug washer..

It doesn't seem to be leaking and the oil light at idle is gone (Probably just because new/heavier oil.) but I'll be keeping a really close eye on it. Might even drain the oil out, put the washer on, and pour it back in just because this bothers me..

I did a burnout in a 2003 regal, I just floored it on a gravel covered straight, and the front wheels spun, it was hilarious.

Spent $120 on Rockauto for some filters and crap plus a set of Monroe shocks/struts. Those were $90 plus shipping, but there's a rebate so eventually I'll get $75 back. :D
