Intel's better but AMD doesn't make a wreck of a computer. The purpose of buying around is to buy the best CPU for your dollar. If you want to get the best CPU money can buy, well that's on you. At the time when I bought my Phenom II, the 3770 was out. The 3770 was better, however as far as dollar for dollar performance, It didn't stack up to the Phenom II. Cheap? Yes. Definitely not low end.

Please note, CPU marks are not a tell-all of CPU potential, but as far as real world applications go, on average they're as close as I could reasonably get.
    http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu_lookup.php?cpu=AMD+Phenom+II+X6+1090T
A stock CPU gets 5714, which is 31.9 CPU marks per dollar.
My system gets 7256 on that test @ 4.2GHZ, I paid 179.99 for my CPU. That's 40 CPU marks per dollar.

A 3770 stock gets 9590 on that test, at the time I purchased mine it was 329.99. 29.06 CPU mark per dollar.
A 3770 with an OC to 4.2GHZ would get about 11,508. That's 34.01 CPU marks per dollar.
That's how my buying decision was originally made.

My third computer's CPU was upgraded from a Pentium D with an Nvidia 8800GTX in 2007, which did today's passmark with a score of about 550. It ran Crysis at 30FPS which was the thing at the time. Would have upgraded to an Athlon X4 in 2009 but I was broke. This was an age when AMD and intel was neck and neck. I got 14 FPS when Skyrim came out (CPU Bottleneck)

I upgraded for skyrim when it came out, November 2011. Decided with Phenom II and Radeon 5850. I got This was an age when AMD was struggling. I got 15-35 FPS in Skyrim (GPU Bottleneck.)

This current age, AMD is clearly falling behind, I opt for a new GPU, earlier this year I got a 680. I get about 80-135 FPS in Skyrim now. (CPU Bottleneck. Why upgrade if you get over 60?)

I don't normally base all my decisions off Skyrim, but that was my favorite game at the time. Would have stayed my favorite after I beat it if they put co-op in it and didn't start this TES:O garbage.

Now there's BeamNG.Drive. Nobody ever made an argument that AMD was better. Point is, buy the best CPU dollar/performance if you're on a budget. If not, buy the best CPU if you can afford. If you're shopping now, odds best one dollar/performance is Intel hands down. If I were to buy a CPU today I would go with a 4770K and overclock it to 4.6, theoretically getting a score of 13,326. Only reason I would pick that is because now I can actually afford it, but I still don't want to throw money at the wind just because I can. It used to be that CPUs changed so fast that it was worth upgrading every couple of generations. Right now, at it's price, 200% isn't worth it to me. A fair warning about the Zambezi 8350 though. The passmark ratings are high but the gaming performance is very low compared to similar Intel chipsets.

it's not even a flamewar, not yet. I guess everyone has different definitions of it.

Just one case of an AMD build "not turning out well" is nowhere near enough of a case to say Intel is the best.

Let's set a few things straight

I had an old HP with a 512MB Radeon in it and it worked BETTER than the NVidia I had before.
Intel <=>+-<>,+ AMD [Cannot be computed because there is always a time when one will be better]

Also 2 threads does not mean the physics get calculated faster, that is up to the game programming, they could be on the same thread for all you know.

ANYWAYS BACK TO THE ORIGINAL TOPIC...

The game crashing is a quite odd issue that happens for many people at alot of times, It sometimes happens when changing gfx options even. The spawning 3 cars could even be down to using Windows 8. You just have to keep trying things to figure it out.
