ThreeDTech21 updated Blue Bird American School Bus with a new update entry: Fixed mesh issue Read the rest of this update entry...
Bug: This mod causes an effect with the H-Series Cabin Textures. Because of this, the H-Series Cabin shows a "No Texture" error. This must of been an error with GIMP 2.0 running into the H-Series .jbeam files and textures PLEASE FIX THIS IF POSSIBLE
Hi , the bus use the driver seat of the van , but without override this, it's work fine here : maybe try to clean you game cache or check if you have not an old version of this mod of an other mod releated to van ?
No wonder, I have an AMD FX 8350 CPU and even though it is overclocked to 4.4Ghz it still struggles with more than 4 cars, Unfortunately like you said AMD has poorly optimized FPUs, I hope to get a 4th Gen Intel soon and overclock it to an easy 4.5Ghz on air! You may have to clear your cache or reinstall BeamNG, the issue looks isolated to your machine since no other users have reported this.
(this partially qualifies as thread derailment aside of being related to system performance running large vehicles, my apologies if so) Well, all hope is not lost. When running beam, sometimes less cores is better. Find your best cores (about four or so of them, or atleast 3, using one core per modules, as AMD cores are TWO per module**, with one fpu shared on each, 4fpu's on 8 core fx 8xxx chips etc), and find the highest scoring of those 3~4 cores, and run beam with that. You may be able to clear 4.8ghz or even 5ghz with reasonable thermals on your cpu. The Fx 8xxx series differs little to nothing from the 9xxx series that is sold to run 4.6ghz~5ghz out of the box other than it's promised and warranted to do so on the box. Most of these chips can hit close to 5ghz on proper cooling with the proper power supply + AMD FX990 mobo. Beam loves mhz/ghz speed on AMD cpus. The more ghz, the happier you will be playing Beam. Bios will have options for you. If you can save your existing profile, please do so before changing things, and keep your cpu core voltage below 1.4v for best life expectancy of the chip. What I am saying here is, if you're going to run more than 4 vehicles, don't do as I say or do - but if you're running 1~3 of them, try it, you may be able to find a few really good stable cores that are over-achievers and will clock significantly higher than the other ones. If you're not well experienced in PC's don't go into bios and change things or overclock ~ you could bust the system :x If you do break the system and it won't boot, just find the bios battery and pull it or follow motherboard manual for resetting the system bios. Many newer boards have a failsafe mode they'll enter if the system fails to boot. Beam would run better say on a 4.8ghz pverclocked 6-core FX 6xxx series (an 8xxx series with one pair of cores - ONE MODULE disabled), then on an FX 8xxx series running 4.0ghz~4.4ghz until you go past 3~6 vehicles. I had an fx 6300 on a asus M5a97 mobo (60$ USD OEM mobo ftw!), the performance was fine in Windows and some games; but games that used FPU extensively for lots of AI/Physics stuffs, performance was horrid. However, that being said (and totally not bashing the only hope for competition/intel not being a monopoly ~ bad bad!), I loved the price/performance that AMD had, and if the BEAM physics is updated to where EACH vehicle instance's physics are load-shared across cores, the AMD issues will be for the most part entirely transparent to the user until you have more vehicles than 0.5x the cores of AMD cpus (4+ vehicles on AMD fx 8xxx series etc). I have already spoken this stuff with the devs in times passed, they are aware of it and working on it, as there still is a large AMD user-base out there. **AMD FX and APU/CPU units work using modules, which is two cores + one fpu unit. FX 6xxx series have 3 modules (6 cores 3 fpus), FX 8xxx series have 4 modules (8 cores 4 fpus), APU 78xx series have usually 4 modules + gfx on chip (8 cores, 4fpus, gfx core). For those wishing to (Intel cpu) upgrade to run vehicles on Beam well, for running 1~2 vehicles, a Pentium K or i3 would suffice. The i3 would hitch less (skip), but the pentium K could overclock to a 60fps-range 4+ ghz. A newer Skylake i3 6xxx can even outclass an AMD FX 6xxx series cpu - yes I said i3 it's not a typo! for running 1~4 vehicles, an i5 would work well, K versions feature a high base-clock and overclocking options are easier. for running 4 or more vehicles, an i7* would be the best bet. i7's hyper-threading allows the physics of different vehicles to run smoother across the processing cores by load-sharing at the hardware level. Beam vehicles physics with 4+ vehicles are possibly one of the best uses for hyper-threading to date. I have not ever seen a better example of a use for this yet. Users going for the i7* route for LOTS of cars on Beamng.drive would be advised to go with atleast a Z97. Power-users going the X99 chipset route would be able to grab a 6-core and a higher-system-memory capacity for equal to the price of a Skylake system. Skylake's BEAM performance advantages barely justify the cost, so a Z87/Z97 motherboard with a k-series i5 or i7* (or close-spec'ed non-k equivelant on an H-class chipset mobo) would do just as well for the money. Skylake is great for a system that won't be outmoded (outdated) so soon but unless you catch it on sale, I'd give it a pass for now. Users wanting the best overclocking system would mostly want to go with X99 chipset as the heat-spreader on the cpu is soldered on properly for the cpus on X99, which was a limiting factor on Z87/Z97 based-systems. *i7's hyperthreading and the k-series chip's ability to often easily go over 4ghz~4.5ghz enables full motion (30+fps) with up to two cars per-core. This means if you buy an i7 4790k cpu you can let 8 covets run amok on your map and still play using one of them (AI running 7 of them) with 25-40fps [exact system-configuration dependent of-course]! IF you get lucky, a 5820k i7 cpu on x99 chipset could easily exceed 4ghz on all six cores (12 threads), enabling 50% more vehicles than even a 4790k cpu. X99 is currently the best target platform for running a multi-car Beam race! To clarify again, AMD lovers please don't think all hope is lost - ZEN is coming out this fall and it should be much more Beamng.drive friendly! Sorry for the book, however, If I've helped so much as one person, then I've done my duty. I've been a computer hardware hobbyist for over 20 years, I know hardware more than most. If you have questions on how to better optimize your AMD system for beam, or about how to upgrade the system for better Beam performance, PM me but give me some time to return the message. Don't post computer hardware questions on this thread as I think I've already de-railed it enough :x --Cheers
I have the same problem with H-Series, no textures inside after installing mod. I have cleared cache but still broken
I Just broke the bank and got a I7 4970K and a Z97 Mobo on the cheap for $380! I'll be selling my 8350 Combo for about $250 so I still saved some, plus my sister dragged in an iMac that someone was getting rid of so i'll be promptly selling that to make back my loot I needed something that is better with BeamNG since I mod so much, and this thing rocks! I ran 6 cars smooth at about 30-40 fps with no hiccups in performance, the boost clock went to about 4.1Ghz but I think its limited to a single core boost. I will be overclocking soon to get the most I can out it. A 4970K is really good for BeamNG, when I had the 8350 overclocked to 4.4Ghz it would overheat and shut down the system while running BeamNG even with only 2 cars, I had to point my Air Conditioning unit into my PC case on full blast to get the temps low. With the 4970k and an aftermarket cooler I have 7 cars running, 30-40fps and the heatsink is not even warm It looks like BeamNG was built for Intel CPUs! I'll have to check it out but it looks like you have to disable other mods and narrow down the issue, I can run the bus and the H-series with no texture issues. The other user said it must be a problem with GIMP but my cars use Photoshop. Also I am using the light textures from the van but those aren't messed up on the van.
I really like this mod but there are some problems with it. 1. When you look to the ground in first person, you can see a drive train. 2. The radiator is too weak. 3. The gas tank is too small. 4. It would be nice to have a new steering wheel.
I'm having the same problem with the H-series "no textures" thing. I've already taken out all my mods (which isn't a lot). Sorted them all out to make sure that they weren't causing the problem. Verified the cache two or three times, with mods and without mods. I also disabled all mods in the game mod page. I'm fixing to just delete it to save the trouble, are there any more suggestions?
You have to check through your other mods, Also it looks like your using version 3 of the mod which is outdated, please use version 4.1. --- Post updated --- What version of the bus are you using?
I'm using version 4.1 and still having H-Series ugly interior issues, I'll try older versions to reproduce the bug, if that works, it must be an issue with your photoshop program again running into JBeam files and nonsense of the H-Series (aka vanster)
The latest version V4.1. It only happens after I load the bus for the first time after downloading it. Before loading it initially, the van textures are still there. its just afterwards its missing.
What other mods do you have installed? Disable all of your mods except the bus and check if it works, then narrow down what mod is conflicting with yours Just finished the body jbeam, next working on the engine parts and seats, this build is going to be a lot quicker than the school bus build since ill only be modifying jbeams instead of building them from scratch, this may have a release in about 2-3 weeks!
