    Cockpit View and Map Ideas

so, i was thinking about this new game and i came to the realisation that games like Grand theft auto or Just cause were amazing games but they were missing one vital thing - and these were small things such as buildings being open and things such as car dealers and earning money to buy a car etc etc... if this was a game designed to beat GTA. I would love to see buildings you could actually go inside, flats you could buy then houses and so on.

I would also love to see things such as destroyable environments, the map in Just Cause 2 was absolutely amazing and if the map was combined with the BEAMng engine it would seriously make it the best game on the market, other things such as realistic cockpits etc would be astonishing, if you look at the Test Drive Unlimited game the cockpit is almost perfect...i think cockpit view is one of the most important aspects in a car game. Let alone things such as real cars used in a game.

Thanks for reading - hope someone agrees with me :)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=npX6N_IDl_s - This is the Cockpit view, however the cockpit should be a bit lower in my opinion.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eMlRGsE9hvs - Just Cause 2 Map! amazing...

Wait Wait..This game is suppose to beat GTA? I don't think so really, but I going to have agree with tdev.
Buying houses? First of all, this is driving game. Plus, why is feature needed on this game?
Destroyable environments? I guess they already show in a video of barrels and a sign getting bent. So maybe I guess.
Realistic Cockpits? I pretty sure they are going to add that as the vehicles have interiors.
Other than that, I agree in some of your points, but buying houses doesn't seem like a feature to a game like this.

Actually, there are already two cars with highly detailed interior.

I think having the entire world made with beams and stuff that can crush and all would tax the computer too much wouldnt it? Same thing with having a gta style free roam game with traffic, you would have to simulate so many cars at once that you would need an insane computer.

Anyway i thought you guys were making this engine to sell to other people, then theoretically they would make whatever game type they wanted to with your engine (say like forza 4 with realistic damage[also happens to be my wet dream])

Well its highly unlikely that this type of softbody physics will be seen in anything other than gta style games for a while. I think current consoles don't even have the processing power for it, and its way too unpredictable. Like in Quake the faster your computer the higher you can jump.

Making the entiry world out of beams/nodes is unnecessary, not everything should behave like this. Basically nothing except barriers and some signs. Buildings should definitely not be softbodies. Maybe some smaller vegetation. But you can somewhat reduce the performance issues, if you only simulate objects that are interacting with something. Many games already use this method, so objects have no physics whatsoever until you touch them.

While your idea is good, it's suited to MUCH larger teams than these guys have time to develop for.
Instead of thinking big, they are thinking smart and polishing off select areas - and that's what counts.

And as we have ALL seen, it's something that has us all hyped.
Don't get me wrong, parts of your idea are pretty good such as a cityscape, but leave things like that to the community to pump out.
