I know its a custom os but I can confirm that even in compatibility mode it still doesn't run. I'm going to have to change os again just for beamng. Going to cherry pick around and see if I can get it running though.

If you don't get it to work on Windows 8 Extreme Edition R2, you could get a OS that BeamNG Drive does work on e.g Win7 and run it via a virtual machine. It should allow you to run the game without changing your default OS.

Have you tried running as Administrator? I have problems with Windows 8 Pro, running as administrator works fine. :)

Drive works well on Windows 8 Pro... for me at least.

Could you at least tell us the error message that appears? Or when it hangs? Does it launch at all?
Just mentioning that "it still doesn't run" isn't enough.

It could be that the cause is your hacked together, unofficial, version of Windows 8 is causing your troubles.

That's very possible. I've had experience with "unofficial" Windows installs. They've ranged from very well done to extremely unreliable and miscellaneous issues. Usually stemming from the modifications. Might be a quick fix if you can find any logs that points to the issue. I would personally stick to official builds of Windows as often as possible, since those are going to be the most reliable.

Although I concur on your point, you might want to keep your hands off of 2 month old threads if you aren't adding anything meaningful to it.
