I cannot believe what an amazing game this is turning out to be! My only question: How will you do all of this (online multiplayer, story all the other stuff) without a terrible amount of lag? Beamng is my favorite game so far but I haven't really got a computer that runs it well... Right now I have all of the graphics settings on lowest except for texture and mesh quality and collisions are turned off. This way I have about 15-25 fps... I know its horrible... And so then when I want to crash two cars together, I have to turn collisions on and then I get about 10 fps. I know, the best advice for me is to just get a new computer, but on other car games (i.e. Forza or whatever) it runs fine. What I know: -Torque 3d is sort of an old engine -the incredibly realistic physics need lots of processing power -my computer is a terrible Dell with core i3 and 4 gigs of ram...(Windows 10) -I know that you guys won't port to Unreal Engine or something like that... WAY to much work :\ I'm so glad you guys are doing this!!! Thank you!!
How long could it be released? Dont get mad, i know when its ready but is the career mode like 6 months out or like 1-2 months out.....
I found some stuff in the campaign files! (.json file) i found them through steam's game content files... beamng.drive > campaigns > utah >chapter_1.json This is what it said: { "title": "Chapter One", "description": "Test Campaign for development", "authors": "BeamNG", "difficulty": "75", "date":1455193290, "startingScenario" : "cliffjump", "scenarios": { "cliffjump": { "title": "Chapter 1 cliff jump", "description": "Chapter 1 cliff jump", "path": "game:/levels/Utah/scenarios/chapter_1/chapter_1_cliffjump.json", "onSuccess": "hilldrop", "onFailure": "cliffjump", "PendingTriggers": 0 }, "hilldrop": { "title": "Chapter 1 hill drop", "description": "Chapter 1 hill drop", "path": "game:/levels/Utah/scenarios/chapter_1/chapter_1_hilldrop.json", "onSuccess": "ramcliff", "onFailure": "hilldrop" }, "ramcliff": { "title": "Chapter 1 ram off cliff", "description": "Chapter 1 ram off cliff", "path": "game:/levels/Utah/scenarios/chapter_1/chapter_1_ramcliff.json", "onFailure": "ramcliff" } } }
i have but one word for this post: YES just yes, that is the only word that can properly convey my reaction
I love so much how the game turn to (what he is becoming) continue devs to put a lot of work on that game it will be an unique beautiful game.
All I can say is just, wow. I've been with BeamNG ever since the launch, and finally buying it in the August of 2013. This game has took almot 500 hours of my time, and it was well worth it. Thanks to the BeamNG team for creating such a great game, also a great community.
Haha "something is still on the horizon". You devs are awesome. And that blog post was a very entertaining read.
wowwwww, this is amazing. i never knew there was soo many guys working for beamng now. im so hyped for this. i cant wait to try out the campaign. i love this game and the devs so much. best devs ever.
OMG! YEEEEEEEEEES! Is there going to be voice acting in the comics? it would be SO COOL if the cutscenes were like NFS Underground 2! --- Post updated --- Could Vulkan support possibly mean Linux support? ;D
First of all, wow. To say that what you all have made your mark on game development is an understatement. I know of hardly any other projects that have major features like soft body physics and yet they struggle to make a driving game as deep and thoughtful as yours. Even if the visual polish is not like a game from a major development studio, you make up for it in spades with content and software ingenuity. I know a lot of your work is under the hood, so a lot of your biggest achievements go unappreciated, and I just wanted to say how impressive I find your work to be. I noticed "online multiplayer" on the development list, and I was very surprised! I know you guys mentioned this would be very difficult for technical reasons, so I won't hold my breath. The only thing I would ask for, in both single player and multiplayer mode, is the ability to add street traffic. Regular cars that drive at legal speeds on paved roads that stay in their lane. I know this will be difficult, so I will be pleasantly surprised if you can do something like that. I didn't notice anything about VR in your post, so I assume that you guys are just too busy right now to focus on it. I'm sure you will add it back in eventually. Other than that, I wish you guys even more success in the future. This is groundbreaking work, and will certainly attract attention when the game is fully released.
I hope the career will resemble SLRR, building the cars and such. It gives that "project car" feel to the game.
Amazing! But just one question: are you guys planning on making trees and buildings which can be destroyed/crashed into? But for now, it looks great!!!
