Moderation also told me I should use the mod slot in the main jbeam. I will try this today (if I have time) or tomorrow. --- Post updated --- I changed it now, it's awaiting approval, I hope it is correct now.
I'm guessing this uses ESC 2.0 that was just recently released? I had the old ESC installed on a cove and that textures broke followed by a large drop in frames after spawning the car in the most recent version.
I'm using a modified version of the sunburst ESC so yeah it should be the new version. Hmm that's weird, I dont get any fps drops. Did you try to clear cache?
That happens with the old ESC tunings, simply swap it out for the newer tunings and it should be fine. The old ESC 1.0 tuning on a pessima causes all the windows to break XD
I haven't tried it yet, but I'm deciding to do laps of hirochi raceway short config with a few of the cars and post my laptimes, doing the covet first because its the default for the scenario I'll either update this post or make a new one with all the laptimes, of course it wont be accurate due to human error, however my laptop tends to run the game at about 20 FPS and when FPS goes below 20 the physics slow down a bit and the timer keeps going at normal speed IIRC so that also will affect laptimes. Edit: did a lap with the covet and was kind of impressed, the traction control didn't seem to be trying to murder me nearly as much as I expected, but it did add 12 seconds to my laptime with the covet.
You can also set the traction control to "sport" by pressing CTRL+Q, then it should be less strong. I haven't optimized it yet for each vehicle though.
with the barstow the electronics only added about 15 seconds which while less than I expected is still a much worse effect than on the covet not only because of the increase in time with the electronics being higher it also had a lower laptime to begin with, for the barstow the laps were about 1:40 without and 1:55 with and for the covet it was 1:50 without and a little over a minute with it. Edit: I realized one thing that could probably close the gap in laptimes is that with an auto transmission on launch when the TC kicks in and and ruins the launch the automatic transmission would probably be able to deal with it better(because Im using a controller at the moment I don't have a clutch pedal). on a slightly related note the supermatic burnside without electronics beat the manual DXI covet by about 5 seconds, even with electronics it got a very similar laptime to the DXI covet, so the electronics only added about five seconds, that could be partly because it was an automatic tranmission or it could just be because it was a nice to drive car even though it doesn't spin the wheels much, going to try the manual for further testing. Manual burnside with electronics and it actually got a similar laptime to the supermatic without electronics, honestly think it might end up beating the 423 barstow without the electronics. Yet another edit: did a sloppy lap with the burnside without electronics and still got 1:38... think I may need to retry the barstow lap to make sure I didn't forget the right time.
