I modified the platefont.js file to make the text more condensed, but obviously this applies it to all the plates in the game. So I made the modified platefont.js as a part of my mod with the correct path, but now it shows up with no texture for all plates.

I assume this is due to platefont.js from my mod being read when the level loads, therefore making it impossible to only modify it when my plate is in use. It seems there is no way to tell the game which font script to use for my plate.

tl;dr: How can I modify the platefont.js file in my mod without the changes conflicting with other plates?

EDIT: After looking at some threads, this is currently impossible. It would be nice though!

Not quite what I'm looking for. I know how to use a custom font (I inverted the normal map to match my target plate, which works fine). What I'm looking for is a way to have an edited platefont.js file, which doesn't doesn't work...

    Thanks for replying!

May I ask why you are wanting to edit the platefont.js file?

I edited the platefont.js file to make the letters closer together. It works, but as I said, I can't make it mod specific.
