I rode my Suzuki DR200 around town today. I had some issues with the gearbox and I cannot identify the issue. When I shift from third to fourth gear, or from fourth to fifth gear, sometimes there is a grinding sound, then it eventually engages the next gear. This sometimes kills the engine all together and I have to start the engine again. After a while, the issue resolves itself and the gearbox runs smooth the rest of the time. My friends tell me that the oil just needs to run through the gearbox, but I think the synchros are wearing out. It is weird since I bought this bike at just under 6,000 Kilometers on the odometer.

    I bought another one.

2007. Pretty much the same as my car, just a year newer. From the same agency as my '06.
I paid $1500, which is more than I wanted to, but not more than I would. Kind of afraid I way overpaid for it, but it seems to be in pretty good shape.
I'm currently on the other side of the country and I don't get back till Monday. I'll probably pick it up on Tuesday and see what I've gotten myself into.

I'm thinking about buying another crown vic or marquis, as i don,t really want to daily the Monterey. I wouldnt mind it if it were at least a four speed, but the three speed on the highway gets maybe 12mpg. Like 8 mpg city. Big blocks are tough as nails, but not the cheapest engines to run... I was thinking about getting a small 4 banger like a miata for fun and gas mileage, but they are just so overpriced where I live. like $2500 for a high mileage rusty one. Vics are cheap.

I wish I could live in a country where $1500 for a huge comfy v8 land boat from the mid 2000s was overpaying....

Keep in mind they will have very high mileage and problems, like rust holes and other things that aren't comfy

I drove my grandfathers 85 Cressida wagon with the 1jz in for a week while I was swapping the engine in my car. Drove it for a few days and than it burned to the ground while I was driving it. Mice probably chewed wires and caused a short. Had the tires blowing up on video it was bad ass.

Still, even with those problems, such a car would sell for 5k+ around here. Hell, the engine alone would be worth 2000 euro probably.

i would, if there was any around here for sale at a decent price. Pretty much all cressidas get sold for difting, or are ludicrously expensive because of that same reason.

nah, not really. If you buy from an auction they are usually under 120k miles, and well maintained. You may have paint fade /peeling, but that is more because of the crappy "peel"formance white paint ford used.

I think I made the decision to put smaller tires on the silver Dodge, the 35x12.50R17 Toyo's look great, but my mileage has properly gone in the crapper. I know the Dodge's were never known for their fuel economy, but while I used to average 15-16, I'm now averaging a pretty even 11.

I can deal with 15, 11, not so much.

Also, Really, really thinking about selling the Blazer and grabbing this 79 GMC Sierra Grande K10, 350, SM465, NP205, 10 Bolt front and rear. Working factory R-12 AC, and factory cruise control.
Original owner who bought it new in 79, Camper shell went on it 4 hours after he bought it and hasn't been off since. Everything that has ever been done it was done by the Buick dealer, from replacing the rear axle in 1981, and a new clutch in 1997, to every oil change up till last month.

    And he's asking $2200

Indeed they are, because anything bigger in displacement than 1.7L gets taxed to hell and back here. I've only seen or heard two V8s in my entire life, one was a monstruous sounding jeep grand cherokee near my school and the other was a Ferrari flatplane v8 screaming down the road in a beach area.

Most cars around here are sub-1.5L peugeots/renaults/opels driven by ricebois and base model diesel 3-series BMWs driven by people who can barely afford them and want to show off that they have money.

    This makes me so sad :(. I hear a V8 daily. Plus, flatplane V8's don't count :p
