Why have Nissans 'rugged' SUVs become soccer-mum mobiles.. Pathfinder, X-Trail & Patrol. The Navara will probably become a Kei Truck next
BMW's plan is to have autopilot for when you want it while still allowing for manual control for when you want to drive. One idea that I have heard is that you can let the car drive on the motorways and then the driver takes over when off the motorways. The reason is that driving is mentally tiring so if you remove the boring motorway bits people will be more alert when they are not on the motorways, especially on long journeys. But Toyota has very clearly showed in the past that there needs to be proper separation of the really important bits and the entertainment bits. To ensure the entertainment system doesn't cause the entire car to stop responding. Personally I think they need to have redundancy built into these systems too, so that if one part fails another will take over and alert the driver that a fault has occurred. Its also worth noting that with the current autopilot system that Tesla has implemented as soon as the driver adjusts any of the controls full control is immediately handed back over to them, this is why it is a driver assist. So the car has never taken control away from the driver, the driver still has that control but the car will assist the driver with that. The driver is still supposed to watch the road and be ready to take over if needed at any point. Currently I am not aware of that system failing (outside of certain humans not paying attention), but given time anything is possible I suppose.
Dunno what they're offering over there but here The Y62 is extremely popular because of the 400 Hp engine and the crap load of trim levels it has (I think like 9 trim levels without the Nismo and others) But gotta give Nissan some credit their base model is more luxurious and way better than the overpriced Landcruisers, even the fully optioned Platinum is still cheaper than the LC.
I saw a Silvia (i think it was a s15 or a s14) delivering pizzas today I guess either its his full time job or he is doing it as a part time job to earn some spare cash. it was kind of funny.
I saw a Holden whatthefuckever the other day. It was parked at a Hampton Inn in Bakersfield, CA. Nevada plates. Dunno if it was a Chevy SS with Holden badges or what, but it was a very good looking car. This dumb iPad doesn't want to let me embed pics or links, so I'll have to link the imgur album. http://m.imgur.com/a/xWXta
Wow that's a Chevy SS but full Holden conversion. Holden exclusive bumper & wheels would've been imported from Aus. Looks like a good conversion, probably has a Holden airbag too. (Most US owners do buy Holden airbags)
Saw a 1974 Lincoln drive past my neighborhood, sorry i didnt got any pics because it was 5:00 in the morning.
I found a 1978 Lincoln Mark V on craigslist with 8900 original miles. You don't understand how bad I want it.
im really tempted to ask this guy if he wants to make a trade for the monterey... I need boost. https://decatur.craigslist.org/cto/5633445503.html
Interesting idea, but please do be advised that for reasons I'm not entirely sure of, the 3.8L V6 is one of the most unpleasant sounding engines ever built.
Isn't justice lovely? A Peugeot 406 decided to park on double yellow lines (no parking zone for those of you who are not from the UK), on the narrow section of road by Milton Regis High Street, which is only 1 car wide, causing traffic going one way to back up. A fire engine with the blue lights on came the other way. Just as the owner was coming back, the fire engine rammed the car out of the way (Well, it is legal for them to do that!) leaving the driver swearing his head off at them. I recently saw the story in one of the local papers, where he tried to sue the fire service, and instead himself got a fine for parking on a double yellow line. That lightened up my weekend!
i know someone that was in similar situation of having their car rammed, fire service sent them the bill for the trucks respray to correct all the scratches it left XD
Did something that I regret a lot. I was moving my bike out of the garage and when I put it on the side stand outside, the bike moved a bit back and the register plate hit my dad's car. (didn't realize the car was that close because I didn't have much space and our cars aren't usually placed like they were then) The scratch is maybe 5cm long and as you can see, it's quite deep. I'm probably more upset about it than my dad is but he isn't happy either.
