No, it would not have cost you over $5,000. Good try on the blatant over-exaggeration there though

Re: I'm going to buy a new computer! But ...

once i was putting my laptop back together after replacing the dc jack (presario r3000 i think. dc jack failure was a big problem for this model.) and i accidentally put the wrong screw into the wrong holes so when i opened it there were 2 screws poking out on the palmrest. fortunately they were under the battery so they didnt go through anything important and i kept using the laptop until i got a new one. ahh nostalgia. i liked this laptop. i got it for free with a ruined dc jack (along with 2 other laptops with failed motherboards) in like 09 or something. 64mb dedicated vram, 3.2 ghz p4, awesome 1920x1280 screen. it had ALL the optional features and max specs. the only downside was it came with a shot battery so i got another one. it lasted one charge then went boom. i got another one which did the same. still better than the desktop i had at the time. also, i was told it costed about 3 grand back in 2003 or something.

found the pic. one hole is next to the xp sticker and the other is close to the touchpad.

Will my PC make the cut for this game?

    Dear: BeamNG Support
    Hello, this is Slayersen.
I was wondering if my PC will meet the standards for this game.

    Simplifyed Specs:

    -I5 3570k@3.8ghz

    -8gb DDR3 1600 DDR3 Ram

    -ATI Radeon HD 6850

    -Windows 7 Home Premuim (64bit)

will this computer run this amazing game when it comes out or will it get run flat?
I am specifically worried about my graphics card not being enough!:(

Dang it, every one uses nvidia. Whats a 650 ti in AMD terms? I hope it is at least a 7770 GHz edition as that is what I have...

I would say the 650 TI is about the same as ATi's 7750, so don't worry, you're ok.
But don't worry, you should be able to play the game quite good, not with the best, Ultra quality, but quite good looking graphics & good FPS (depending mainly on your CPU) :)

Everyone's thread is the same. Keep this shit in one big thread to not clog up the forum instead.

I don't understand your point. The purpose of linking these is that you can then compare your hardware to other people's and derive the answer yourself.

    My Specs:
    Dell Inspiron One, All-In-One PC
    Windows 7 Home Premium
    4GB Ram
    Dual-Core Proccessor
    1TB Hard-drive
Not worried about GPU as much

I run rigs of rods on average 20-30 fps with heavy fps cars but that is with every setting at fastest except texture filtering and the program running on high priority, I just hope BeamNg will not be a 10 fps slideshow on my machine....:p

Really depends on what dual-core it is. Some of them can be pretty fast and some are slow...

With my limited hardware knowledge, I'd say usually if you can run RoR at 20-30fps you should be able to get more in BeamNG. I did a little test a while back, after Gabester posted he was getting 40fps with 5 cars on a nearly empty test terrain. I used the simple terrain thing in RoR and spawned the equivalent cars(shape-wise), so 4 Accords and 1 S-10, drove them against eachother, and I got 11 fps. Considering the BeamNG cars are many times more complex than the Accord and S-10 and the engine itself has way better graphics *and* the BeamNG test was in an "nearly empty test terrain", and mine was completely empty, BeamNG seems to get a much higher framerate overall.
Though I'm not sure how much better or worse Gabester's CPU is than mine. I believe it was also an I7, similar in performance to mine, but again, my knowledge of hardware is pretty limited so I don't know, perhaps his is way faster :p

I think maybe the Mv4 or 49 Ford are somewhat similar in node/beam count to the BeamNG cars, but of course that's just guessing...

EDIT: Oh, and thanks tdev, for merging the threads :3 That was definitely needed :)

I think the frame rate in RoR is depending more, not from N/B count but from car/mesh polycount. For example with MV4 on the Gabester's Small Track I have 50-85 FPS, on the same map with the 49 Ford I have 90-120 FPS, as you know Ford has more complex N/B than MV4, but at the same time less Mesh polycount than MV4 has.

    Will a hug suffice?? :p
Hopefully now we'll get less threads about this.
