HAD TO RESTART WHOLE MAP, THERE WONT BE A BETA FOR QUITE SOME TIME.
    Abandoned Village

I’ve been looking at and downloading lots of terrains/maps made from other members, and some of them are great, great layout, landscaping, etc. So I decided to try and make my own terrain, really getting the hang of this program/game, and to start out (for me) was hard, which plays a big part into the making of this map, (the looks), it’s not the best but defiantly a WIP.

So far as of now I have three areas in the map, two of them are abandoned stronger like areas, and one crash test area. I also have a small offroad trail with many large and small rocks, fallen trees, etc. Later in other versions I plan to have a water area, maybe a lake, pound, river with offroad trails. Another plan is to have a residential area up on a mountain side, and make the crash test area a little more insane. I also plan to model my own campground to add to this map.

Here soon I will have a video preview showing what I have so far, pictures for now. Yeah, please tell me what you think so far, and new ideals that might or should be added, any suggestions. I also will need some beta testers when I make a release to test this map and many to come.

Hmmm...it doesn't seem particularly realistic, but still looks pretty fun. It's a great start, so keep working! :D

Thanks, but what do you mean by not particularly realistic?

The terrain doesn't feel very natural. The idea of having an abandoned village is really good, but some of the things you added take away from its potential. First, the overall layout of the town is really strange. The shipping crates seem very out of place, and the old warehouses make the town feel more industrious than residential. If you want to pursue the industrial feel, I advise adding roads to replace the gravel pathways. An overgrown town wouldn't have meticulously maintained gravel paths. You could try adding vegetation to the roadways and buildings to provide a sense of dilapidation. Also, try adding more purpose to your level. By the looks of it, the map has a long straight path leading to the town. Instead, try adding some winding pathways and obstacles (fallen trees are great obstacles, since they show that the roadways are underused). Also, I think you should further expand the forest to give a true "abandoned town in the middle of nowhere" feel to your map. However, what you have so far is a great start. Everything I've said is merely a suggestion. Good luck on this map! You have a great idea. You just need to focus on execution.

Hey, thanks for all the detail. Tell you the truth I planed all of what you said. The map will be nothing like you've seen in drive at all, its going to be great.
