Beamng is supposed to be a kid friendly game. I believe that having a skin with an advert for "BeamBeer" touches on an adult subject that has no place in Beamng. If you ever went to get this game rated with the ESRB, it would probably get a "T" rating for alcohol references. Try something like NGCola.
Oh no, a reference to a super widely known alcoholic beverage that kids see their parents and people drink, both on TV and in real life, all the time. For the love of god, think of the children.
Wow, this is some politically correct bullshit, my dad drank all of my childhood and at 19 I still haven't touched a drop of it, same with smoking. The sort of kids who go get drunk and smoke will still do so without the slightest bit encouragement.
I'm a child under 14 and I'm fine with it it's actually very accurate for the skins on the cars it gives a very realistic racing feel to the game
Real life! Ahhhhhhh! Besides, if BeamNG were to be rated by the ESRB, it would likely receive at least an E10 rating based on violence (my little sister actually freaked out when she saw me playing, asking what happened to the invisible person driving the car) alone, which allows for alcohol reference. A Teen rating is only 13+ anyway, which doesn't sound unreasonable for a game with highly realistic depictions of car accidents.
Oh my. These poor children are going to see beer some place other than the Wal-Mart canned drinks isle!
1 it's not nice to judge peoples by how they look like, 2 it's not him in the picture, 3 can I say same thing about your profile pic? Anyway, it really is "politically correct bullshit" and I'm sick of it, because games have now too much of it and are stripped out of independence even in games rated M or Adults only, try to demean homosexuals or some hard racism in games and because of LGBT, anti racists etc groups it can be banned in lots of countries and game studio may pay cash penalty, crazikyle pointed out something that could have some influence on rating, but does rating change so much? Games with "M" by ESRB or "+18" in my country are the best selling games in the world, because they aren't dependent on political correctness, still there are a lot of limitations, Rockstar had a lot of problems with GTA series, games that refer to nazis, hitler and swastika can be banned in Germany etc. but there's a little bit of space for killing, drugs, sex, brutality etc. overall there's space for authenticity of real world where things like this happen, and that's one of reasons why they sell so good, because they feel authentic, not synthetic like Utopia. So the bottom line question is, why devs care so much about rating, while best selling games have "Mature +17" rating? It's known that GTA is +17 or +18 depends on where you live but go and open multiplayer and you'll hear kids mostly, so to be honest it doesn't affect sales, and you have more free space to do what you want with your game as developer.
It´s not inappropriate. So,why we had smoking dad´s in 80-90´s cartoons? Well, when people thought it was normal. Pingu
