A few weeks back I toyed with the possibilities of making a micro-sized map as a compromise to contend with the limitations of multiseat mode. As both players share the same camera, the only official use we have for the feature is the current crop of multiseat demo derbies. And that's all well and good, but what if the players want to race? Or chase each other? Or just drive around on actual roads? That's where my newest map comes in. Built around a temperate dilapidated natural/historical site, Potosi Springs features a paved ring road, split by a snaking dirt path. Roads are fairly heavily cambered and mostly flat, and are largely unobstructed by obstacles; ideal for a top-down drive. Do bear in mind that this is largely meant as a proof-of-concept, and is therefore a little lazy by design. The map only has one species of tree, the stream ends abruptly near the level's edge, the cliffs look rather dull, etcetera. Also bear in mind that the top-down perspective is a compromise, with caveats such as the inability to properly gauge speed or the height of bumps or rocks, and the inability to hear sounds from the vehicles themselves. These concerns aside, I do hope that this could be used for some fun times with a friend or two. Also, I'd like to grant content creators permission to create scenarios for this level without having to explicitly ask my permission first*. As I see it, it's about time we got some kind of light multiplayer race/chase action. As always, download the .zip file and place under Documents>BeamNG.Drive>mods to install. Be sure to leave any feedback below. Enjoy! *Do, however, ask my permission before using any of my level's custom assets in another level.
Care to elaborate? 'It isn't working' doesn't narrow it down much for me. The map pulls some textures and models straight from East Coast, without having to include them in the mod itself. If you have any mods that pertain to ECU, this might be causing some issues with the filepath. No promises, naturally; it works fine for me. But I'd start the search there.
My friends love smashing into me when they come over, so It's gonna be fun ACTUALLY playing with them, and by playing I mean not playing "let's crash a D-Series Into Drake's 200bx while He's customizing it!" This looks really fun for learning how to shift or something!
