Please add 2-player split-screen multiplayer so that you can do things like race your friend, police chases, rally cross, etc. I believe that this would make the game so much more fun to play with friends.
The feature is called multiseat, but it's pretty much useless if you want to play highway chase or hide and seek, etc. You have control of 2 cars but the camera is only on one of them. You could use it nicely for tug of war with recent chain mod or for demolition derbies. The split screen is not possible for some reason; I can't remember exactly why, but it has to do with PC doing alredy hard job twice at the same time. --- Post updated --- I believe this is because of two points of view: mirrors are not really hard job because they are low resolution and have small area on them, but doing orbit view on two cars at the same time will put high pressure on PC...
Well the problem of dual points of view seems a non problem in my opinion. Looking back in the past: playstation one: split screen multiplayer was the only mp option available for 3d games playstation two: split screen multiplayer was the only mp option available for 3d games xbox: split screen was the first multiplayer option, then they added first implementation of xbox live playstation 3: split screen plus PSN xbox 360: split screen plus XBL I don't know if modern consoles still have split screen games, i see that this kind of multiplayer option is declining. But I remember playng Halo 2 with splitscreen and no issues on xbox, even with 4 PoVs. Now, multiple points of view is something that has existed in 3d gaming history at least for 20 years. I cannot believe that today a game like beamng cannot be rendered with multiple points of view on GPUs like gtx 960 or hd 7870. It could be demanding on heavy vegetation maps, but not on simple maps. and derby maps tend to be simple.
I think the game engine has problem with two points of view, not that your pc can't handle splitscreen. And if you want to play derby you can press Shift+C, set camera in desirable position and use multiseat.
Split screen in this game would require you to have a £10,000+ server to do it....thats all I need to say @SixSixSevenSeven I doubt you would be any help with this topic...but I think Split screen in this game would be way to much to handle for any computer...
I dont though I also find this entire discussion pointless when there has been dev feedback on the subject.
+10 k pounds SERVER or CLIENT? Got yourself mixed up a little bit. And while i dont think 6-6-7-7 is an angel ive seen you criticize him for any reason recently, even if he did nothing to deserve it.
I understand sometimes I trust peoples wisdoms that are better than mine there are others on the forum you would need some serious graphics horsepower and CPU horsepower to do split screen and Puget systems does a system like that in a server case....and its well over £10,000 and it could do split screen....
Yeah, not quite. Split screen doesn't mean the horsepower to run BeamNG twice. That would mean running the game twice. Splitscreen is literally making two cameras, making them run at the same time dividing the space on display or over multiple displays to have their own camera working, and their own HUD elements based on what car you are using. I am no T3D codder, but splitscreen aint 1/100 as complex as making a working multiplayer for any game.
I would LOVE splitscreen! Or something like Minecrafts LAN world, where people on two PC's could connect online!
