I would like to know if anyone would like to see a DeLorean in BeamNG. I know people are already working on the Back to the Future DeLorean, but I am talking about the original car.

Pits not nearly as easy as you think. It requires countless hours of tedious modeling, texturing, jbeaming, etc. and haven't you seen how long it takes for people to make good quality mods? Just check your info and you will see how much time and work goes into modding.
Come on, don't make it sound that bad Modeling and texturing isn't tedious. It's pretty fun if you are into it ...especially if you are "allowed" to work on cars But yeah it takes some serious amount of time, especially if you are not doing this fulltime. And is definitely not easy.
Really, if i wanted to do a quick conversion of a delorean onto a edited super n/b it could easily be done in a day. it is really easy.
Well.. For someone not as talented as you, It's very tedious, even for the professionals it's tedious sometimes with UV maps etc. but I can't even model or texture a spoiler. I can do minor jbeam work but nothing major like an entire vehicle. Also not having the time or modivaton doesn't help.
It seems my question was misunderstood. It seemed there was a great amount of resistance to the idea of this specific car being added in, as though the OP were suggesting that the devs add it as an official car. Since several other real life cars have already been modded in, I guess I thought it was an appropriate question.
The devs can *not* add a real life car, that would be illegal. Several people have tried making a delorean, but because its not easy and so time comsuming to make vehicles in this game, nobody has succeeded yet.
I know that's illegal, I never said they should or were going to. I just said it seemed like that's what people thought this guy was suggesting due to the way they reacted. Why can't I say things in an understandable way today?
Yes, and then it won't be a Delorean, it'll be an edited Bolide. That's what all those filthy russian wannabe-modders would do. First of all, the Bolide has regular doors, Delorean has gullwing doors. You'd need to rebuild the entire roof n/b from scratch. Bolide has a full underbody chassis structure, Delorean has a double-Y chassis. You'd need to rebuild the entire chassis from scratch to get something that works like a Delorean. Because of this, you'll completely need to rework the bodyshell n/b, so that it supports itself on the sides. The Bolide has double wishbones on the back. A Delorean has a multilink setup with a trailingarm. You'd need to rebuild that too while you're doing the chassis... Because you're rebuilding the chassis, you'll need to redo all the limiter beams on the front suspension. The Bolide has a very narrow front hood. The Delorean has one big flat panel that spans the whole width of the car. You'd need to rebuild the hood completely because there wouldn't be enough nodes widthwise for any decent deformation. Also, I think the Bolide has a forward-swinging hood no? So you'd need to rebuild the hinge/latch system too. Also, because the front lid is so narrow on the Bolide, you'll need to redo the tops of the fenders as well for the Delorean, because you'll end up wiht an exces of nodes. So actually no. You cannot do it in a day or so because it'll be a disgrace to what the real car was, and everyone would hate you for doing that to a car as legendary as the Delorean. Honestly, if you want to make a Delorean, the only way to do it is to do it properly: Build chassis and bodyshell from scratch, then MAYBE you'll be able to re-use the nosecone and the tail cone n/b partially, MAYBE the engine cover n/b partially too, if you're lucky.
Yes, i do make bad mods in that way most of the time, and no, i am not proud of it. And that is the ultimate answer to kids asking why i don't release my conversions. I am literally afraid of people hating on me because i am bad at something :|
If you call your self bad because your to lazy to do things the right way then I think you've earned the hate that falls upon you. Lesson to be learned here, you can't make quality content if your being lazy.
Or you could just put some time into it and do it properly...? It's really not hard once you know the basics, it just takes time, and lots of it.
I'm going to ask a question that probably shouldn't be asked but I'm going to ask it anyway. So if someone want's a conversion you did is there a way we can contact you or something to get it?
