That sounds pretty good but where to obtain the detonator? Keyboard shortcut key? Or drive to like a mafia district and get 1 detonator? From the shop?
I think having the car overheat would be a lot better that having a dump health bar at the top of the screen. When driving the car long enough, the car will (in real life also) start to overheat. I also think explosion are pretty well silly, why would we need to drive and then BOOM?!, when driven into something? The point of BNG is to have fun driving a car into a wall and seeing it turn into a piece on trash, what other games don't have. If someone really likes to see cars explode go play GTA, CD, etc. Agreed, with Tom. I like your ideal also.
Okay good. Other than that, I still can't see a health bar in drive. Tell me do you think the bar would make drive funner, just a question.
If you crush the fuel tank and the car bursts into flames, that would be cool. Like being rear-ended in a Pinto or jeep. Or anything that runs on LPG. But health bars, explosions, go play Burnout.
Does a car have a health bar in real life? No? Then no health bar in BeamNG it's supposed to be a simulation not a arcade game.
I was thinking maybe the game can have a HUD (Heads-up Display) that shows what parts of your car are damaged, and maybe an option to toggle it off. (If you don't want it) It should show the engine, chassis, wheels, drive shaft, etc. It should be green for fixed, yellow for slightly damaged, orange for heavy damage, and red for destroyed.
Ah, so kind of like the one in Forza 4 or World of Tanks? That'd be neat, and the toggle on/off idea is good for those who want it as realistic as possible.
My 2cents; -No explosions in the base game (Like how it is now) -But someone needs to make a Micheal Bay mod for those who want it. I want explosions because I'm easily impressed, but I at least want them to be an optional thing, and preferably not in the base game. And on the health bar; ^This
im beating an already dead horse, but the point of this simulation is so that we can do away with the old "healthbar" system that have been used in games for so long in lieu of the realistic damage system that wasnt achievable until now. to have 2 systems, the realistic damage and healthbar, would be redundant and pretty much incapable of being used together. the damage in this is pretty much determined by whether the car is still driveable, the caster and camber of the tires (which could determine how damaged the control arms are), and stuff like that.
Guys just ignore the healthbar, I thought it would be great in a way for me... what if when we crash the other car should lose its reflectiveness and looks dull. And if the cars do't hit hard enough, then the car creates scratch marks and slight dents
Use search use search use search use search use search use search. Scratches will be implemented once the dynamic decal system is coded and included in Drive. Small dents in regard to mesh deformation is infeasible without absurdly high poly cars.
There's no health bars or explosions in burnout..... Well, the old ps2 burnouts have explosions, but still no health bar.
That's not how cars work. If a car gets "critical" damage it will just stop working. This isn't a GTA game, it's a proper simulator.
I dislike the idea of cars exploding in video games, Mainly because in real life hey more or less just burst into flames, or even just catch on fire. And a game as overkill realistic as beamNG should be the last game to have exploding cars. Just Cause can have explosions though, Its made for explosions everywhere.
