I have the techdemo, but, of course, other maps would be more intensive. Would my CPU run it OK?
    Windows 10
ATI Radeon HD 3400 graphics card
    CPU:HP Elite 8100
    8GB Ram

Errm, you didnt mention CPU? From graphics card alone, unlikely though

Uhh... What is your cpu? :p

That's not a cpu, it's a whole computer. It looks like those don't even come with a graphics card, unless you added one. The cpu those have would not run beam very well, if at all.

You don't mention your CPU, only the computer model...
Apparently that computer could have any of the following:
    Intel Pentium G6950 (2.80-GHz, 3M total cache 2 cores/2 threads)
    Intel Core i3-530 (2.93-GHz, 4M total cache 2 cores/4 threads)
    Intel Core i3-540 (3.06-GHz, 4M total cache 2 cores/4 threads)
    Intel Core i5-650 (3.2-GHz, 4M total cache 2 cores/4 threads)
    Intel Core i5-660 (3.33-GHz, 4M total cache 2 cores/4 threads)
    Intel Core i5-670 (3.46-GHz, 4M total cache 2 cores/4 threads)
    Intel Core i5-750 (2.66-GHz, 8M total cache 4 cores/4 threads)
    Intel Core i5-750S (2.40-GHz, 8M total cache 4 cores/4 threads)
    Intel Core i7-860 (2.80-GHz, 8M total cache 4 cores/8 threads)
    Intel Core i7-870 (2.93-GHz, 8M total cache 4 cores/8 threads)

No it would not, the 650 is a very old and low-end chip and wouldn't even come close to reaching minimum requirements.

Upgrade it to an i3 6100 if possible. Best budget processor out there, if not, that i5 would not run very well, think about the i7 models.

You should consider putting a graphics card in your PC.

If he's going to upgrade his CPU and put a gpu in it he might as well buy a new computer. A new CPU would need a new mobo for the socket and those psu don't come with room for a gpu since they aren't modular. That leaves the case, wireless card, and maybe the cooler and ram which isn't much left of a computer.

4th gen still offers great performance too, and costs less. No need to go for a 6k model imo

My 3rd gen i5 runs fairly decently, and I got it fairly cheap. Unfortunately 3rd gen motherboards are basically extinct in Australia so I would try for 4th gen at least.
