You seriously think that is a BeamNG ripoff. Google Dream Car Racing and you'll see. BeamNG doesn't allow you to make your own cars with ingame tools anyway. Don't get triggered. I'm just saying. If you don't agree i won't start a flamewar anyway.
Yea, I wouldn't say rip off either. It just happens to make use of the same approach to Physics... Remember, Rigs of Rods is open source, so literally anyone could go and read the code and, if so desired, use that knowledge to make a game of their own.
You're right, I mightve gone out abit harsh on it without checking up on it first, though i still think it wants to benefit from BeamNGs system so to speak. BUT as you say its not patented way of modeling sof-body physics so i guess they can do what they want. Who knows, in the end they might benefit from eachother. Cant say i improve of the way some youtubers use BeamNGs name in the title when they review or play this game though, feels alot like click bait. AFAIK the devs have planned all along to be able to create beams and nodes in-game, atleast i recieved that answer when i asked a question about the possible input of straps or chains in the game. Now that doesnt mean theyll make a vehicle creator but in the long run again, who knows.
Yea, that is the one thing this game is missing. There used to be one in RoR way back that looked like it had potential, but it could only modify a vehicle, not add or subtract nodes and beams. Then it was upgraded to modifying vehicles with adding nodes and beams on the fly... but vehicles would explode if you reset them. Then it appeared to be scrapped all together. I hope they do add one in eventually.
http://www.kongregate.com/games/RoKo0/simple-motions - here is the first game with an earlier version of Dream Car Racing physics engine. The game released in 2012. Maybe beamNG - is ripoff of this game? http://www.kongregate.com/games/RoKo0/dream-car-racing Dream Car Racing (2D version) - The game released in 2014. Dream Car Racing 3D is the game where you build cars. BeamNG is the game where you destroy cars.
Well RoR was before this so no on the ripoff part. I can see the difference though, more is better when it comes to games, as long as its not some company trying to get some rides for free.
Soft-body physics doesn't mean a ripoff --- Post updated --- Still, this feature looks like a good thing for Beam.
