Hi All, I recently bought an admittedly lower end Driving Force Pro wheel (used, no less). my experience so far with force-feedback has been pretty bad. I found the excellent "Steering wheel setup" article on the wiki which spelled out how a lot of the features towards realism (like this fancy new "power" steering that some new cars have today) aren't even implemented yet. ok, its early release SW, i get it. My question is, if i go out now and spend $500 or $600 on a new high end Logitec, will my FFB experience be exponentially better than it is now with my $80 wheel? Or is this part of the software not ready for prime time yet? I'm sure that much of the jerkiness I am getting now is from the cheap straight cut gears in the Force Pro. But i dont want to go spend five hundred bucks just to smooth things out a bit. /rant
You might not have optimized the settings in the driver itself for the wheel. Check out the driver settings and make sure the degrees of rotation are maxed out. Also, go to the force feedback in beamng and learn what each variable does, and toy with it. It takes time to keep adjusting the FF to perfection.
you were right 1UZ, after playing around a lot more with the settings I did get a drastic improvement. thanks
