I was wondering about license plates too, hopefully we will be we to just edit the texture or better still have an in game option to modify license plates. This could include the shape of them too, for more European style ones and such. Although most of the cars at the moment seem to follow the US spec and facelift. So I'm not sure in that regard (perhaps we could even have some RHD models *wink* wink*)

On- topic however, the new wheels have certainly changed the look of the vehicles and they now look much more more realistic. Can't wait to see those hubcaps detaching!

    Do you mean RHD cars?

Amazing how the cars have changed since the second video.

    Fix'd it :D

    Actually that reminds me:

Gabe, will all of the trim on the cars such as wipers, door handles and the black plastic along the side also be detachable Or would that be too performance heavy?

Did some material wizardry and all the vehicles can now be colored by simply changing the diffuse color value in the material - no texture editing required.

    Some obnoxious colors:

I guess the license plate didn't get masked off quite right :D The license plate meshes are placeholders anyways for when we add a proper customizable license plate system.

Did I see some rust/paint fade on the hood of the red car?

Hevean came to me. Nice magic Gabester. If this game comes out, then all of my videos are gonna be of bright orange cars crashing into pink trucks.

I don't like that idea, because if the menu sucks, you are going to get haters, and people are going to be mad, but, I guess that would be your problem.

Nice, very well done! That hot pink and the banana D-15 would be ideal colors for a demo derby :p Would it be possible to also include matte paint as a customizable option? Perhaps a slider which multiplies a black mask over the reflection map(that is, if the specular and reflection are seperate maps of course)?
I think the same happened with the trim around the Ibish grille :)

EDIT@Below: Dayoumn, that looks like a mafia car :p I'd like to see the ETK 2400i in black too, that would look sick I think :p

No, that's supposed to be body colored actually. I experimented with making the grille surround body colored to make it look more early 90s and less 80s.

Matte paint would be easy, you'd just have to disable the cubemap in the material. Reflective materials in Torque are a bit strange - you don't give anything a reflection mask, but rather you partially cover up the base layer of chrome with non-reflective colored textures. So your diffuse alpha map ends up basically being an inverted specular map.

The Grand Marshal looks pretty pimp in black ;)

I really like the shiny/metallic paint :) Will you be able to paint separate parts? :) For demo derby or just silly looking? :D

Nice! Now you need to paint in neon green with a purple interior, put 35 inch rims on it, and chrome everything else on the car. :p I really like those rims on the Marshall.

Hmm... It seems that ever since you started using the Torque3D engine, the tires have had some shadowing issues. The shadows of the tires seems to kind of fade away.
