    Hi all,

Since the day of the 0.7 update, I get a fatal error every time a big crash happens in game (crashes with very severe vehicle deformation). I now have 0.7.0.2 but this problem still persists.

This is easily repeatable by crushing 3 cars with a T series at high speed (150kmph +). This causes a windows dialog box to pop up with a fatal error and happens 90% of the time in a scenario like this. BeamNG then crashes and the scene is lost. This was never an issue before.

I have cleared cache, removed all mods, checked integrity, run in compatibility mode, etc etc etc, but to no avail.

A friend of mine has the exact same issue.

    Anyone else experiencing this?

I've submitted diagnostic info through the new reporting system to devs on 3 occasions. Awaiting response on the last one.

Attached a picture of the last crash that made it happen. I'd like to emphasize again that this happens *all the time*, not occasionally.

    Thanks,

    Pieter

Do you often use mods in these crashes? They could be outdated/unstable and are the most likely answer to your problem, try a big crash without using mods, as updates often break mods

Yes, I use a lot of mods, but in testing I have removed all of them and used a completely vanilla and up to date version of the game (cache also cleared and file integrity verified), and it still happens.

Parked a ETK i-series, a mirimar and a covet against the wall in gridmap, and hit them with a t-series cement mixer at 112 kmph and it crashed. First try. Screenshot attached.

Same problem here, the game is very unstable in hard crashes now.

Just to also verify, I've also tested this in Safe Mode - still happens. I can only recreate it when crashing into 3 cars or more, not when crashing into 2 or 1.

I also used the Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool to verify that I don't have a faulty RAM module - no problems there. Scan clean.

I'll post here as soon as I hear more from devs. They replied and told me they'll be investigating my logs and asked for some more info on how to recreate the crash.

Holding thumbs for a quick fix...

I remember getting this crash on the 7.0.0 version but it was with only 1 vehicle and i was simply changing parts and it crashed.
    This is how it happened.
I had been playing around for about 30 minutes around the etk new map with all sorts if cars and eventually i decide to mess race the roamer around the skid pan just in front of the spawn point and when i decided i didnt like the rear wheels, i swapped them to a set of 5 ligs and the game crashed and came up with the status heap corruption.
I posted this in the 7.0.0 bug reporting thread and got no response. The post should be between pages 6 and 9, i dont know its exact postion but it was before the 7.0.1 update came out.

Devs confirmed today that they are investigating, and will post here directly with feedback.

I have the same problem, I've been recording for insane crashes so I use heavy trucks crashing at high speeds. I had to bail on insane crashes and do another realistic crashes (more lighter crashing). So I hope they can get a hot fix soon, for now im reverting back to the 6.0 update.

Exactly my and CrashBoomPunk's problem as well. We're also using 0.6 for now. I've been in close communication with the developers and they stated they'll post directly here as soon as there is feedback. Lets hold thumbs.

Hey there. In the video you posted 2 of the cars fly away and are not crushed by the truck. We're not talking about just crashing 3 cars, but crUshing them (as of totally wrecking them:p)

Hello, we've managed to reproduce the crash.

Can you test if the crash still happens with the attached beamstate.lua?

Put it (and overwrite the game's beamstate.lua) in:

    \lua\vehicle\

    under the game's folder.

    Thank you for testing.

    Can you do another test?

In line 259 of beamstate.lua (referring to the one i've send above):

    if totalBreakEnergy ~= 0 and soundTimer > 0.05 then

change value 0.05 to 0.1, making it as such:

    if totalBreakEnergy ~= 0 and soundTimer > 0.1 then

if it fails then increase it even more (to 0.5 for example).

    thanks in advance

    Edit:

Also try to delete line 261 (shown below):

    sounds.playSoundOnceAtNode("CrashTestSound", breakNode, totalBreakEnergy * 0.01)

to stop it from playing crashing sounds

I did 4 different tests, and removing crashing sounds worked. Thanks for your help!.
