You're misunderstanding, I know nobody would do it for me, I'd wait and hope for someone to do it for themselves, and I know nobody prevents me from doing something like that other than myself, its just finding the motivation to do things is hard.

I have to agree here that motivation is really hard to come by, at least for BeamNG. There are lots of projects that I wish I could start on (mostly aircraft), but my motivation levels are currently at about zero for BeamNG.

    Luke...
    Sigh...
    Really?
What if there was only one person on the forum and they said "I'll let someone else do it."
There wouldn't be anyone else to do it, would there?
Yes that's different as there's more than hundereds of people in the forum, but you can't always expect someone else to do everything. You'll never earn indipendence or any respect, because you're the one demanding others! I hate it when people be stupid like you are being right now, it's not fair.

There is a dig difference between demanding and simply hoping something gets done.

Yeah well waiting for someone else to do it is pretty much being lazy and wanting something done.

Except that you are putting blame on other people for your own laziness.

I was there too at the start!
    The forums changed A LOT
    They got better, and, worse...
But honestly, i think the moderators should supervise more the forums... i mean, just delete spam threads!

Can we stop discussing Luke's own thoughts and problems and get back to what actually matters, that the very mentality is the problem among many of the new members.

I've been on, and actively lurking on these forums since 2012. Before the game was released I viewed every new thread and every new post. I wasn't happy until the "WHAT'S NEW?" page was empty. Now, I only view the main threads like Community Screenshots, Developer screenshots, version discussions and a few mods that I enjoy. Everything else I just ignore. I really enjoyed it when every thread was talking about the game, but it seems like now, half of the threads are about something else. When I click "WHATS NEW?" right now, I see stuff like "What's on your phone?" and "Rally drivers festival 2016". In no way do I think posts like these contribute to the forums in any way. There are people who say they're 18 that are clearly 13 that seem to like to start drama, and only half the people use grammar. Whenever a mod that isn't released yet is shown anywhere, people ask and beg for a download link, or to be in the Beta test group. Everyone else seems to post their rants here, so here's mine. It sucks that great modders like mythbusters have left because of dumb stuff like this. I'm going to grab some breakfast now.

I have to stop you there. There is a dedicated offtopic section for the forum users to get to know each other and discuss certain non-game related topics. These are in no way detrimental to the forums, in fact they motivate great discussions.

That nitpick aside though I think you nailed it right on the head. It's a shame to see good people who were here since the start get pushed out in favor of barely literate people who do nothing to actually contribute. just like the refugee crisis

The same thing is happening to the Car Throttle community. It grew and changed into a place where almost all of the people who used to be big in the community just disappeared

I Agree with you on this. I was heavily part of the Carthrottle community. Early last year i was always on it, spending each minute of my free time at school on the site, looking at memes watching gameplay, learning some more stuff about cars and just having fun. But i stopped going on it because it changed in a way that i didn't want it to so i just left and now i only follow it facebook and even that has become taken over by ads and old reposts of the same pictures, stories and click bait.
    --- Post updated ---
Also the exact same thing happened with the forzamotorsport forums. That used to be a great place but as soon as horizon 1 came out all the little kids about and would not STFU. They kept complaining about the same bugs and demanded new cars and this car and that car. The step to Forza 5 on the Xbox one again brought even more annoying little kids and i just become sick of it because there began to just be a lack of respect between the members and to the devs and admins on the forums.

Car Throttle now got so many complaints from users that they are finally taking action with Adnan openly asking everyone what change they want, so it's getting better

the real problem with carthrottle is not the platform itself, it's the community that has changed the site for the worse (I have been on that site for almost 2 years and I learnt a lot form it) and I guess that is what Dummiesman is trying to say about this site too ( I have not been on here for long so I can't say for sure)

Exactly, the community changed and that all started when the platform got a big update that changed it from everyone looking at everything to split communities.
