Can I ask how you're getting the sound? Maybe I can do my own personal sounds, or I could collaborate with you. I can record and you program.
I figured that, but I meant were you asking about a particular car? I believe NinetyNine has sounds already recorded for the Roamer, so no other SUVs needed. Thanks for the offer though. My method is: 1. Check engine configurations needed 2. Find a car from similar time period with same engine type in Forza 3. Take the car to a quiet area with little background noise (there's always a quiet insect sound but it's never noticeable in recordings) 4. Hold the car at some "steps" of revs. E.G. hold revs for about 10 seconds at 2000rpm, then 3500rpm, then 5000rpm, or whatever. This part is quite hard because dropping revs means the audio won't loop well. 5. Meticulously tinker with the sound in Audacity until I'm happy with the loop. Can't have any clicks or "jumps" in pitch. 6. Write a .sbeam file for the car. Mine are copied from the Covet's default sbeam, but the values are changed around so much it may as well be written from scratch each time. It's just quicker to copy it than mimic the layout and structure myself.
it's forza horizon 3 sound ? i think all v8 engine sound are the same, no ? but Dodge charger rt, chevel ss it's good. for the bruckell moonhawk.
No, just about every car in Forza has a unique sound, besides some that are bugged (Skyline R34 uses the BMW M4 samples instead of the RB26DETT that the older Skylines correctly have). I haven't decided on a sound for the Moonhawk V8 yet.
The Moonhawk could use an older camaro or firebird engine sound, as bruckell seems to be BeamNG's General Motors
This is amazing, @TheAdmiester . I've been using a modified Ultimate Engine Soundpack a la Telemax, but it's got its fair share of issues so this is a real promising sound mod until the devs implement sounds officially. Keep up the great work!
Oh man this is great. I've always avoided using sound packs because they would just add a straight-piped V8 for basically everything, and those that weren't V8s would be very inaccurate or badly done. This though, it's amazingly done from what I've seen so far and the merge with VM will surely be even better. P.S: Pretty sure I remember you from ever since I got into RoR way back in 2009. Good to see some familiar names
this will be awesome when it comes out, so you are doing one for every engine!. Are you going to have different sounds for similar engines (eg. 1.8 and 2.0 Pessima) since they are very close, apart from the head (SOHC vs DOHC)
There are sounds for those cars: http://www.beamng.com/groups/gamer-alexs-mod-group.325/groupinfo This group has an soundpack for example. Maybe there are some other sound mods for the bmoonhak and etk's that are only for one vehicle OT: Any new progress on this?
After reading this I am quite interested in this project, If there is anything I can help with let me know. ( idk what I could do, but I can see) Will there be different sounds for turbos? Maybe if even feasible could we get some different sounds for different exhaust systems ( such as factory vs straight piped)? But so far I'm anticipating this release. If there is one thing I would ask for. Could we have some turbo whistle or the sound of a properly built ITB setup of the air whooshing in wren you floor it? (Idk how else to explain it. But the sound of ITB's on a N/A car)
Oh my god, this is so fucking cool, especially sbr, but isn't the audi R8 would fit it more naturally since they are very similar visually? I don't know do forza have audi or how it even sounds, but I'd be nice to check it, looking forward to release, good luck :3
it seems the thread author hasnt responded for 3 months. i just really hope this is not dead as it looks - or rather sounds - very promising.
