Hey Beamers , Ive noticed the last few updates with the 423 CUI V8 any time ive given it full throttle in any vehicle and any configuration the engine will catch fire without any crashing or damage .
Even a blip of full throttle can light it up sometimes.
I really love using this engine but cant stand seeing it bug out everytime i use it.

That sounds like your engine overheating. I gave the Barstow a low final drive ratio and the biggest supercharger and floored it, it only caught fire once the engine overheated, blew the piston rings and head gasket.

Yep I dont think this is a bug.
If you use the stage 4 supercharger, the cooler can't handle it and the engine will overheat after a short time of full throttle.

Drag engines aren't really made to drive races or very long straights so I guess it makes sense

    EDIT:

Actually, now that I increased the radiator efficiency, you can see in the thermals debug, that the fire is not related to the engine overheating which is really weird.

I just tested this again using the Super radiator mod to keep everything cool, On the Barstow with the 423 CUI V8 and it still caught fire even though everything was cool. Then I tried it with the 378 CUI V8 Engine in the Moonhawk and stage 4 supercharger, same transmission and the super radiator. It can drive for miles so I'm not sure if this is just the bigger engine overcoming the cheaty radiator or if something else is going on here.

I thought it might come from the manifold temperature since the fire starts at the sides of the engine but it doesn't seem to be related to that either.

I did some tests and it started burning at different manifold temperatures

Don't think its to do with manifold temp I got it pretty hot and it did not cause problems, was using the super radiators mod but I don't think that affects manifold temps, although I may be wrong.
