    Hi,

after the readind of this thread http://www.beamng.com/threads/stereo-side-by-side-rendering.3850/ and some tests with TrinusVR on Assetto Corsa, I tried to have some experience with BeamNG.Drive in order to have a complete 3D full immersion.

    here there is my test:

what do you think about this?

though the 3D render was made side by side (SBS) I noticed that is no real 3D stereoscopic images, because it seems to duplicate the same image into 2 quadrants from the same point of view!

please let me know if someone know how to have the stereoscopical images..

wow looks good :) i cant wait to see this game combined with the oculus rift or htc vive. would make the crashes pretty scary i guess

also i remember there was proper oculus rift support at some stage of the development some time ago, so im sure its possible to get working.

I've made similar thing long time ago, then tried it last time like 2 weeks ago with way better cardboard style googles, but using tridef 3d instead of trinus to produce stereo 3dnot "fake 3d", looks pretty good but I abandoned it because I didn't know how to setup head tracking, FOV option wasn't available so I had to cheat wit resolution and rendering screen resolutions so view wasn't correct I mean everything was like 20% taller. Also I see a damn lot of latency in your vid, would made me feel dizzy after 2 minutes, my setup had way better latency and pretty clear image quality. I can do more tests in next weekend while I'd have some time. 30 april /1 may.

yes this is just for information about VR technology on your smartphone, I know that I have to try other kind of software that can do better the job.. the resolution issues depending from your smartphone display and from the renderer option available.. so for my test I used an Asus zenfone 2 which has a Full HD display theoretically it is the best solution in order to split the screen into 960x1080 quadrants from the Full HD game resolution, but in the cardboard I saw a distorted image...

at the moment I think the problem is due to not optimized games for VR general technologies because there is no standard video settings for devices or softwares (only for Oculus - HTC - Sony)..

but we can have something similar after a lot of experiments in order to don't waste a lot of money for expensive devices that could be old after 2 years...

I'll do other tests with different software in order to have something playable..

I tested with LG G3 - QHD, short USB 3.0 cable, plugged in 3.0 port, yeah G3 have only USB 2.0 but let it be the only weak part, I mean PC usb port and cable are good, and wouldn't made any more latency, while PC usb 2.0 port and 2.0 cable could make a small difference. Or If you have any phone that support 801.11ac Wi-Fi (2x2 stream best = USB 3.0speed) and router which support it too + you have it not far from your setup USE IT, then you'll be able to stream in 90fps with minimum possible latency and best possible quality. You have to optimize resolution to your cardboard, even that I have QHD i use 1024x768 or 1200x800. It doesn't mean splitting it to half gives best view, because lens in my googles are developed for 5" display while my phone have 5.5", so image is actually smaller than it could be and it's not the only reason, but that's how optic works. If you have "only" FHD don't exceed 1024x768 resolution. IIRC you also have 5.5" and "only" FHD it gives just around 400ppi which isn't perfect for VR, I'd say it's a minimum, and you'll experience screendoor effect. And proper setup in trinus or tridef 3d requires some knowledge, it really isn't that easy.

Sorry but in this moment I don't remember anything... for time reason I had no chance to test it again and also other kind of softwares.

If I don't wrong I remember that the phone must be connected in WIFI and setted up on Trinus (you have to download the trinus app on the phone and connect it to the PC trinus software).

try to see youtube tutorial on trinus VR in order to set the phone with PC.
