So, I bought this game today (pretty late pick up, I know) and tried to start messing around on the gridmap, only to find that the game had started running at the high high frame rate of, you guessed it, 10FPS. No matter what quality I play the game on it goes down to 10FPS when I take it off of pause.

Here are my computer specs: 64GBs of RAM, Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700K CPU @ 4.00GHz and a Nvidia GTX 1080 graphics card.

As you can see, my rig is top of the range and there should be no reason at all for this lag. Anyone think of any reasons why it's lagging this hard?

Does it ever go above 10 fps? You could have accidentally turned on the fps limiter. Go to options > graphics > fps limiter. Your hardware shouldn't be the problem my 1070 gets a solid 60 fps with every setting maxed.

No there was no FPS limiter, I ended up figuring out that it was because of the shadows. Apparently my rig cant handle having shadows all the way up so I turned it to partial, and hey presto over 100FPS just like I expected. I just couldn't figure out how to delete the post...

That is a very contributing post right there.

There is a way to check the resources/performance:

    Do the following:
Load Gridmap (do not move the camera or the vehicle)
Go to options > gameplay > enable 'Advanced Mode'
In the sidemene there should be a new button named 'PERFORMANCE'
Press it and let the graphs fill the screen.
Press ALT+O and paste the link for the image here.

Thank you, @Zorin-Ind. ! Though I have solved the problem I have the feeling that performance overlay will prove to be interesting anyway :D

You're welcome! Would you mind sharing your solution? Maybe it could help other people with performance issues :)
