Adobe Premiere Pro is so easy to get good with. Extremely powerful and has addons if you need/want something. Imports and Exports just about everything including GIFs and MP3/AAC
Use hitfilm. It is easily the best free editing software available to the public. You can trust me as a former user of WMM. Hitfilm is intuitive and quite easy to pick up, and there are plenty of great features such as: Pip, greenscreen, slowmo, and of course text animation. This stuff is pretty regular for paid programs but rarely for free (you'll be paying big bucks for other softwares with such features) You've really nothing to lose here
