Did you download the script provided in that link you posted? You need to add that script to Blender to export to jbeam.
I'm creating all my jbeams in blender. When you create jbeam, go back to object mode and select only created jbeam structure. Then press ctrl+a and apply location, rotation and scale. After that, press space and search "export jbeam" and click on it. (you must have saved your .blend file) In the same location as your blend file you will get jbeam file containing a list of nodes and beams. Then you need to add them in proper jbeam file structure.
The spacebar search feature in Blender I would say is one of the most useful features for beginners. When I don't know a shortcut I just press spacebar and search so quickly. I don't even think the industry standard programs like 3ds Max have this.
WOAH! You learn something new every day. That seems like a really important and useful thing to know, but I sure didn't know it. Thank you. ... with that heartfelt statement out of the way... I'm not sure that your post is relevant for this thread?
Someone mentioned the spacebar search. It's probably one of the best ui features to ever happen to Blender. Also, you can press shift+r to repeat your last action.
That plugin does not give you a ready to be used .Jbeam file, at least not for the current version. It mainly provides you functional Nodes and Beams list. You should copy-paste the Nodes and Beams information into a functional Jbeam file.
i prefer the node editor and i think its better then the export tool with blender. it takes a while to get used to it but its way better. trust me lol.
I made an updated version of the script http://www.beamng.com/threads/11514-Blender-Exporter-plugin-0-1-1
