Ok guys this my first attempt at modding, so I thought I would start something simple, what I have been playing around with is my off-road suspension for the Gavril-D and Elvisnake's 1986 Chevy. So far it seems to be working out for me, lots of suspension travel in both the rear and front but the one thing I can't figure out is how to get the rear to ride higher and still keep the suspension settings. The front does ride kinda high so when it takes a big jump it can land safely. If you want to change it and post it go head I'll get pics up and a video up as soon as I can
Cool Moosedicks the ride height is perfect but the suspension needs to be just a tick softer. On another note thanks for helping/trying to make it better
I was trying to make it softer and retain it's height but couldn't figure out how so I stopped for the night and worked on some other things
i did try some more. I tried to make the front suspension a little stiffer and changer some of the rear. I'm at school but i'll share it later
Thanks, between the two of us we should be able to figure out a really good trophy truck suspension setup.
i forgot to reply with the files. I'm not a genius with this game and I don't really know what I'm doing but I know that I've made the rear suspension as soft as it will go without the truck just compressing it down just by weight. I changed the front to be a little higher and stiffer. The truck rolls really easy so that's not so good. edit: I changed the rear suspension and I like it a lot more. Front suspension is still terrible lol
Awesome I'll check them out, my files went loopy somewhere so I'll up load mine when I get them fixed. I had the rear/front ride height more like a baja truck but somewhere i messed them up adjusting the firmness [edit] I was thinking about the rolling over problem and it hit me like ton bricks we need to widen the wheel base, I can't believe i forgot to widen the wheel base. (I got the trophy truck pics off google.)
Haha, well duh. That's why I turned my off-road version into a crawler. With those off-road tires it just can't turn at any speed besides slow, no matter what I do to the suspension. You space out the front wheels, I'll have baja suspension perfected in a heartbeat. I really wonder if it will cure the roll-over symptom...
so far i have managed to remove the wheels... but that's about it Edit: well I'll be gone for awhile, I'll start working on this as soon as I get back
Well I'm back but still no luck yet on getting the wheels wider, I'm just gonna keep playing around with it on blender/Jbeams till I figure it out............
have you adjusted the shocks and softened the springs to give it a softer ride...what about tightening the anti-Roll..
RobertGracie: I have adjusted tires, shocks, roll bars and the springs but once I get it where I want it something else screws up.... Mikeb1986: thanks for setups but like you said it does still really easy... but I'm going to keep working on this when I get time
Ya, I was gonna build a custom truck using parts from DrowsySams minimonster, the moonhawk, fundadors d-15 dually add on and the 86 chevy but since I started working again, I just don't have time to learn how to use blender or write jbeams... I sent DrowsySam my mod file and he told me how to fix it but again I don't have time... If you want to get it from him and finish it go for it.
I just finished overhauling the D series suspension for a prerunner, for the front end to deal reasonibly with jumps I had to increase the damping, problem is the mount for the shocks on the arms aren't strong enough, more or less just insta breaks after a jump EDIT: Inceased the shock's strength by 4 fold. Still breaks sometimes :l
