OK my mission editor is missing since you folks added the campaign update of 0.7.x from 0.6.x.

NO MODS, and settings folder removed to test. Steam files Verified TWICE, chkdsk /f run in admin console.

Can't seem to get it back into my map editor no matter WHAT I do.

It's just missing from the icon-bar, and there's no shortcut key or even a mode>menu selector for 'mission editor' either.
Is this removed on purpose while the campaign mode is ironed out?

I've looked through dozens of LUA files and html/xml and stuff in the game dir (without modifying things mind you), The game works beautiful but I can't get a mission editor.

I asked two folks who (on my steam list) play Beamng.drive and they do not have the button either for it.

Nadeox1 on the steam forums gave me some help of things to try but to no avail.

Tried on my map, tried with no mods on gridmap, tried in utah, doesn't matter, NO MISSION EDITOR button, shortcut, or anything!

Really want to make some races for my Tennessee USA map soon!

See picture, blank space on toolbar.

It's not rendering outside the screen. That I can garuntee. I've tried moving the window and such.
There's no hotkey for this, if there was, it'd have been F10 which does nothing.
There's no menu entry, there's no button, no shortcut either.

Tried to follow instructions, norton antivirus popped up with NO VALID SIGNATURE, causing a hung programs.
Had to force - close steam down to get the launcher back.
Support program hangs again, not due to antivirus this time (it's set to ALLOW support.exe to access internet).
Stuck. Now steam things the program is still running AGAIN.
Went to directory to manually find file support.exe, found and run. Click submit, CRASH with stuck app.
I need to know where to pull this number. EDIT: Got it - it popped up one time - a few minutes later on my idling-and-not-busy top-end i7...
    TID= 6261.
I have since we spoke last, moved my 'edited' levels back into the /levels directory. However, even without these, there is NO change.
It's something with the editor since they added the campaign mode.

F1 to F8 are the shortcuts to the other editors mode. I tried and they work here.

Also, do you remember when the problem started more or less?
It's a bit tricky to try to see why that's happening, as it appears nobody else ever reported similar issue D:

If it's ok for you, we can try TeamViewer so we can try having a closer look.
    Drop me a private message.

Also If you want to save your edits then use ctrl-s to save.

This happens when your game crashes.

I have had this issue happen to me as well and I solved by making the resolution size smaller.

20161117152814_1.jpg < I have also noticed that when you take a screenshot it does not render the mentioned area.

The function keys work fine for the short-cuts for everything else, up to and including the mesh roads.
There is NO shortcut key or icon, or menu selection for mission-editor. There's no reference to the mission editor ANYWHERE.
@jdbensch and @gigawert also have this issue, they're on my Steam contact list as they also enjoy map-making in Beamng.drive.
I asked both of them to see if they had the button on thier editors and they did NOT have the button.
It started last-month with the campaign update to 0.7, the first update (NOT the hotfixes).
I feel it's been left out of the editor script. Is there some file that is text-readable or something, like html or xml script that I can look at. I can understand LUA also. Are you sure they didn't remove it by mistake for the internal build and not re-enable it?
Game not modified, happens without and with mods, only a problem after 0.7 update (campaign update).
I have checked console logs and everything. My only solution is to re-download the game. I can try teamviewer but problem is my internet is REALLY bad and disconnects ALL the time (slow DSL 2mbit down / 512kbit up - bits NOT bytes), + very spotty wireless.

Only thing I can try is to re-download entire game (takes FOREVER).
However, if Steam verified all these files (TWICE) I don't see the reason to re-download.
Does the program save anything to APPDATA directory hidden in the system (C:\users\%username%\appdata or 'application data') ?
I will have a dig around in there and see what I find, if I find anything at all.

The area I am speaking of is on the toolbar where there's a blank space, lowest toolbar on the top of the screen. There's a one-icon sized space, where the mission editor should be (but it's not there!). Two other users I have asked to look, also have the issue.
Not many people make missions so for them it's not an issue, for those that do, they might assume it's just left-out or under-construction for this version.
So they might not think it's a bug.

I have also checked out the console logs in the Beamng.log or .txt files the game logs to, in the Beamng.drive folder, and there is nothing that is even mentioned much about the editor missing that mission editor.

If it means anything, I can confirm what Bob is saying is true. It seems that after version 0.7 or so, the mission editor button disappeared. I noticed when Bob asked me about it, and I can recall seeing it when I used the editor prior to version 0.7. Not sure if this is a weird glitch or something done on purpose.

Adding a screenshot here showing modes of the editor menu. I did this using print-screen button and pasting into the graphics program.
Sorry if it's portable-network-graphics-huge I was going to use DDS by habit :x Didn't know if JPG/JPEG or GIF would keep the text legible.
*for those of you who pay attention to detail, the CPU-temps are in F not C, do NOT be alarmed. Paint.net was acting up on the new video driver and locking up on and off.
Incidentally this issue with the game is not related to my video board upgrade (GPU), it happened a few weeks prior to this, while I had the 7850 2gb still in.
The other two folks I mentioned above have Nvidia cards (970 Geforce, 750 Ti Geforce, respectively), recent drivers. So I don't think it's hardware related.

System specs, for what it's worth. I don't know that hardware has anything to do with it though.
Windows 7 x64-bit Home (will update to pro in the near future, NO WINDOWS 10!!!)
Z97 motherboard (Asus Maximus VII Hero), i7 4790k CPU, NO OC, 4.4turbo, 4.0 nominal, speedstep enabled
    2x8gb (16gb) 2400mhz cas11 RAM
Rx 480 8gb using latest beta driver from 2~3 weeks ago. (problem occurred before hardware upgrade!)
    Soundblaster Pci-e soundcard
Solid State drives in Raid for drive c: (for loading huge BEAM maps quickly)
    Bargain-basement DVD-writer :)
All air-cooled, have one of those large tower-style cpu-coolers... NO water cooling (or LEAKS).
This passes every stability test - though I wouldn't ever recommend Prime95 on an intel 3xxx/4xxx or higher CPU as you'll melt the damn thing.
Everything but the video card is 2 years old.

I am thinking there is old settings somewhere conflicting, or some file left out as this happened right when the new campaign was added.

This screenshot is from an older version, 0.4.0.6 .

If you want it back go into STEAM.

Then go to beamng.drive and right click, then you see a dropdown menu, go to properties.

Then go to BEATAS, and click 0.4.0.6 dx9.

If I could just find out what part of the program controls the editor, and keep the javascripts, lua, etc, that control the menu/UI system here (which is where the problem is), I could go and use the older ones from 0.6.x and be fine with it (I mean, provided I don't make the program take a dump in the process, and it would also invalidate me from beta-crash reporting)...

@Nadeox1 , If you could, send this issue to the team member(s) who do the coding, and let me know what files control the editor UI, and I will zip up mine and send, or have a look digging through anything that is text-derived (such as lua, javascript, etc), about the only thing I don't have control over is machine-code stuff (assembly, compiled exe / dll stuff, beyond hex-editing programs themselves, which I am not going to do).
I have 22 years of PC experience, I have fixed just about every problem I have ever had with a computer, the software, games, operating systems, and the hardware itself. If I knew more about your program, I could really help. If all else fails, I can upload my entire copy of the program (though it would take atleast a full DAY), in 7zip format to my online backups and send it back to your team.
I have a feeling that, for all the folks on 0.7 except ONE person I have talked to, who have this issue, it's all after Steam version updated to the latest 0.7 update (and the hot-fixes after) in October.

    Steam\steamapps\common\BeamNG.drive\gameengine.zip\tools\missionAreaEditor

The missionAreaEditor folder is empty, that is why the button is gone.

Yeah there's NO mission editor inside the F11-map-editor feature of Beamng.drive. Now, I'm not waiting on this right now (so, don't drop what you're doing to go look at this), but sometime in the next month or so, I'd like to add some missions to my Tennessee USA map that recently hit the resources/levels section of the site. There USED TO BE one. It's been there all these months/years begging me CLICK ON ME CLICK ON ME!
*updated to first 0.7.x build to hit STEAM the second it went live* ITS GONE. MISSION EDITOR mode is entirely missing - from everything - like it was never there, there's no reference to it anywhere in anything. I think those files got taken out of the game-editor-engine, and not put back in, by mistake, while you guys were working on adding stuff for the campaign mode, by mistake. It's cool, if it's just an oversight (that's easy to fix). Hopefully it's not something much more sinister. Let me know if there's something I can add, change, etc, or if 'OK we know this now, OOPS' or if 'I am totally an idiot' and I need to fix something on MY end.

Don't get me wrong, I love this game, I know it's early access, so it's totally AS-IS, this is possibly one of my favorite apps to ever come out on my computer. However, when you do add this feature back, I will be a very happy guy.
Let me know if I need to do anything.
@Nadeox1 - it's okay buddy I know what you mean, that's why I threw the second pic up there, this Mission mode is completely ABSENT from the editor.
The whole mode - gone - I had to dig up my old screenshots (OK, I hoard files, I am a file hoarder!) that i never delete just to re-assure myself my brain is OK.

Thanks guys for looking @ this and all who have helped!
    --Cheers
