In demo derby cars get stuck on each other too easy

I noticed this happens more often after vehicles have gotten really smashed up and things like doors, bumpers and fenders are hanging off. A really hard hit will cause it as well on undamaged vehicles. The parts from one vehicle will clip into another vehicle causing them to get stuck together. Cars do get stuck together in a real demolition derby, but not as easily as it happens in the Alpha. Sometimes I can get the vehicles seperated and sometimes they are hopelessly stuck together.

I've brought this up before, it's not a bug... In real demolition derbies, the body panels are chained or welded together. So no fenders getting stripped away from the hood, no doors coming unlatched. no hoods or trunks opening. and the bumpers are generally welded on so they'll stay longer. That's why they don't get stuck together as much in real life

Right, except bone stock is close to this game in terms of not much being welded and still they don't get stuck together as easily. The clipping error is what's causing them to get stuck, not body parts catching on each other. It seems to be more prevalent with the Brucknell Moonhawk which can be guaranteed to get stuck on another vehicle after only a few hits. I understand this may be an extremely hard issue to fix, and in a way although it's an error it is kind of neat, but a workaround might be possible such as the ability to hit a key like R and reset a vehicle a few feet away from it's current location without completely replacing the vehicle as R currently does. R does work right now to force a separation but the car is completely refreshed. The same error occurs sometimes when a vehicle brushes up against an object like a tree or jersey barrier in game and part of it clips through the object.

Ah yeah, I noticed that the parts seem to interlock instead of just getting stuck on each other. But it should be noted that bone stock still uses chains to bind everything together so you don't get shit ripping apart quite as bad

It is genuinely annoying, but no doubt that the devs may be working on something or have ideas for the future on solving half of this.

If it really bugs you terribly to the point you're desperate for a fix you can always pause the physics and pull them apart with the editor.

Yeah, but it ruins the action man! I know, it's still the alpha. But I'd like to see it fixed too. However, I find it less of a priority than some other things unless it's an easy fix

Hmm, I've tried that but after I engage physics I seem to lose the ability to select vehicles in the editor (after pausing physics again) and I don't see the node you click on any vehicles. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong; I'll look into it. And I'm not desperate for a fix, so calm down, but I'm raising the issue none-the-less as this is where we report bugs is it not?

Just go to the tab labeled "Scene" and scroll all the way down and click on "BeamNGvehicle." ONe of the files will be the vehicle you are stuck on.
