Thank you, it really does mean a lot. Cars bring me happiness, they calm me down. I can find fun in just about anything, I found fun in that Corolla. It had skinny little tires, absolutely no power, and suspension softer than the French military, but damnit, I found fun it in. I hope to one day find Doom again.
You won't have to. for men like like us, it's doom that does the finding. keep looking over your shoulder, and when the time is right she'll be there.
Unfortunatly, my 09 CVPI has the 3.27 open diff, not the 3.55 lsd like my 06 did. I plan on swapping the 3.27 out for a 4.10 trac-lock rear end in the near future though.
I drove my friend's 07 Focus. It's fuckin awesome. I'd imagine it'd be a lot cooler with a manual, but the i4 is a lot of fun.
What do you guys have hanging from your mirrors? When I had my 98 Regal I had a flower lei hanging in the mirror and a long band of flower leis stretched on my rear windshield sill, but now that I have my Lexus it doesn't feel like they suit the car enough to use them
My hilarious answer to that question is this: It's a thing I made at YMCA day camp when I was eleven. It's supposed to be a kind of finger puppet (it used to have googly eyes on the pop-poms) but, instead of going in the garbage after five minutes like one would expect, it ended up on the mirror of the family minivan as a joke. To my surprise, it was never removed. When we eventually got a new minivan, I sneaked it over and put it on that mirror--also as a joke--expecting it to be taken off once and for all, but instead it just became a tradition. I think it's been on three or four vehicles total, the last of which was my first car. Once I sold my car, it felt weird to put it back on the family car, so it's currently hanging where you see it in the photo so I won't lose it before I can buy another car of my own. Ridiculous, I know, but I'm going to see how long I can keep it up
I only have my school parking pass hanging in my windshield. I usually take it down when I'm not gonna be in school for a few days because I don't really like broadcasting to the world how old I am. I sold the '06 today. $3500, what I was asking. Knew I could get someone to pay it. The car is still here, the guy had to leave and his daughter is picking it up or something. Kinda sad to see it go. It's my first car.
A lot of them fall into the same basic design, engine, etc. This is my third "sunny" style scooter, first was a Peace Sports, second was a Tao Tao that I flipped, and this is a Manco Hornet. All basically the same scooter.
now you see my love for them, even with the 1.6 in mine, its a light car, wring the engine out, its a laugh
Can be. In many cases its easiest to start out with a turbo version of the car if such a thing exists. Alot of stuff online for turbo conversion. Bare minimum. Need to modify your car for a lower than stock compression ratio. Need new manifolds. Intercooling needs installing somewhere. Manifolds, turbo and intercoolers take space in your engine. Turbo needs alot of oil. Turbo needs alot of water. Turbo engine needs more fuel (bigger injectors and maybe pump). ECU needs remapping, with most non turbo car ECUs having no way to support turbo in the first place so off you hop to getting a new aftermarket ECU. Not a weekends work and thats basically bare minimum above. Cheaper to buy the turbo car if it exists. Ideal world. You want forged replacement pistons and connecting rods to cope with added pressure and temperatures. Some of the stock parts can literally shatter (and in case of certain engines, the blocks themselves, looking at you 4.0l cologne v6), this is also a very convenient way to handle the need for the reduced compression ratio (though a budget option is custom made spacer plate between head and block, right where the gasket goes). You want new cams optimised for the new airflow. You want an aftermarket remappable ECU. Big fuel injectors. Big fuel pump.
The car in question is a skoda octavia mk1 with the 2.0l engine it has a turbo with other engines so would it be easier to increase the engine displacement of the 1.8l turbo than fitting a turbo to the 2.0l without a stock turbo
Probably best just getting a 1.8 turbo and modifying it for more power without increasing the displacement. The VW 1.8 block is stronger than the 2.0 block.
