Are Sketchup Models still banned for cars?

    Hey guys, I am getting becoming really talented at using Sketchup, is it still banned for car meshes?

    Sketchup was never banned, using models from the 3D warehouse is however.

    If you create your own models in Sketchup then you can freely use them in BeamNG.drive. :)

    I thought sketchup doesn't allow you to export to collada.

    The default Sketchup format IS Collada to some extent, and it can definitely export it. Problem is that you cant label groups or anything which can make some parts of making vehicles difficult since there is no multiple dae support yet.

    When they upload their content to the Sketchup Warehouse, they give Google exclusive copyright control over the model. So, even if it's ethically correct to get permission for use from the original author (or if the author is you), you still need to get permission from Big Brother Google to release it. Which is near impossible because their support system is almost entirely automated or populated by people named Bob who only have a basic working knowledge of English, let alone U.S. Copyright law.
