How can I plug a console to my laptop where I can use my laptop as a display like for example play my ps3 on my laptop so I can play Motorstorm.

You cannot do that with a laptop. If you have like £70/$90 just buy a secondhand HDTV and make sure it has HDMi, if yours is broken for whatever reason.

    edit:
SixSixSevenSeven beat it to me when I was writing my comment...

capture cards dont work for this, latency makes for an unsatisfactory experience

I've tried it, its pretty bad
though I have plans for a way of doing it with analog signals and an SDR

If you have an Xbox 1, you can stream your game to your computer using the Xbox windows app if you have a wired controller to plug in, or one of the newer controllers that connects to Bluetooth. PS4 does the same with the PS4 remote play app. You can also play a small selection of PS3 games on PC if you have a PSNow subscription

You're not going to be about to go direct into the laptop unless you physically disconnect the screen from the laptop and convert it to vga input. I know zero specifics on that, but it is possible in some circumstances, however appears to be quite difficult, and guides online are sparce and done on a case by case basis for each display manufacturer. It will be much much easier to either temporarily set up a TV to turn on streaming, or simply purchase a secondhand TV, even an old CRT will do.

And you don't need a screen plugged into the console to play ps3 games on pc, just the account
