Changing License Plate Charachters

Hi Guys,

I found the little box to change your license plate in the garage, but for some reason it will not let me edit the text? I can highlight the text where my name is, but it seems like I can't delete or edit it to something else for some reason.

Any ideas?

It is... I hover my mouse over the highlighted text, click on it, etc. My keyboard doesen't seem to do anything to change it

 

I finally got it working... I'm not sure what was causing the problem yesterday, tho. I had tried everything, restarting, etc. Today I went into the garage, clicked on the text once (the very first thing I did, and did not pan around the car with the camera) and it worked for the first time... =P

 

This may be a bit of a dumb question, but are the two of you talking about setting a default license plate?

Right now, my default plate is the first eight characters of my email address. I'd like to change it to my steam account name.

I know that I can do this in the garage or on any map by using the vehicle configuration menu, but this change is only temporary. Whenever I load a new map, the first vehicle I get will always have the default plate. Is there a way to change and save a different sequence of characters?

 

It appears to be, and for some reason my Steam nickname is the first eight characters of my email address. I guess my problem is with steam and not Beamng itself.

With that said, is there a way to re-set the default license plate in-game?

 

When I finally got it working, I was able to edit it in the garage (accessed from main menu), and save it as part of my vehicle config. Then when the vehicle loads, so does the custom plate. I'm not sure if it saves as default for all vehicles, tho...
