I'm sure once the game is good enough and it's on steam you will be able to use your key to redeem it on steam
No need to be a male genitalia about it. I just remember someone saying that it would stay here and not go on steam.
I made this thread on the RoR forum a while back, (only for RoR though). It is a dead thread but its interesting what responses I got: http://www.rigsofrods.com/threads/104350-Will-Rigs-of-Rods-ever-go-on-steam
I honestly was going to make a thread today, asking devs about their stance on Steam, and possibility of BeamNG Drive being released there. I'm really happy, that they're not against it. Some of the similiar small game communities have sometimes really extreme dislike to this platform (like on this ROR forum, that pf12351 linked to), even though Steam is usually a big help in marketing and selling the game to the PC gamers (http://www.coldbeamgames.com/3/post/2012/11/november-26th-2012.html). Still, I have some more question to the devs, if OP don't mind derailing the thread a little: 1. Since it would be your first game on Steam, I think the answer is going to be obvious, but I'll still ask: Would you have to go through Steam Greenlight? Or maybe you're planning to get some publisher in the near future, that would help you with marketing, selling and things like that? 2. Do you prefer finishing the game upon theoretical launch on Steam, or maybe releasing it as Alpha/Beta in Steam Early Access section? 3. Would you implement Steam Workshop into the game? To be honest, I'm really not sure what their stance is, in terms of uploading unlicensed real cars into their Workshop servers, I don't recall any driving game with this, that let you do that... 4. I guess it goes without saying, since it's part of Steamworks library, but would there be Cloud Saving, achievements or even a Steam Card system? 5. Would "DRM-free" version still exist alongside Steam version?
People are going to get so sick of me quitting and entering the game 24/7 haha! DrowsySam is playing BeamNG.drive DrowsySam is playing BeamNG.drive DrowsySam is playing BeamNG.drive DrowsySam is playing BeamNG.drive DrowsySam is playing BeamNG.drive DrowsySam is playing BeamNG.drive DrowsySam is playing BeamNG.drive etc..
Why don't you guys greenlight it and then just put it up as early access, this game would get greenlit super fast
that's because Rigs Of Rods is a free game, and open scource, BeamNG Drive is niether (and in case you didnt know, the BeamNG Drive Devs are also RoR Dev's)
