Hello people. First, I would like to start by saying a big thanks for making such a good game, I fell in love with it.

The problem here is that I am starting to think that I might have some problem with my GPU. I have a GTX 680 2GB GPU. The requirements say that you need a 670 to run it on Max settings. Sometimes, I am getting some lag on max settings. Also, when I pressed auto-detect in the settings, everything came to low. May I have a faulty GPU? I only experience this minor lag on the Dry Rock Island. I understand that this game is in Alpha and bugs are being fixed. May it be the map itself? I am looking forward to hearing suggestions and seeing what you think about this. Thanks again.

Forget about the auto-detect settings, they are always wrong :p. And the lag you have in dry rock island is normal, it's a really heavy map.

Also the CPU is very important in this game, which one do you have?

Thanks for the quick reply. My CPU is Intel Core i7 3770K 3.50GHz Ivy Bridge.
I have got 16GB of Ram, if it helps.
P.S. Did this game use the CryEngine in the past? If yes, why did they switch to Torque3D?

yes, and they switched because if they used CryEngine, they would have had to buy a license, hence why they switched to Torque3D

That's a nice computer. I also have micro lags sometimes in dry rock island, it may be the game loading all the stuff as you move around, because if I do a lap around the whole map it lags a bit but the second time it works fine.

Thanks for the compliment, I had a shitty computer before I bought this one. It had a Pentium 4, 1.5GB ram, 160GB disk space, and very slow...

sounds like it's running off of your integrated graphics rather than your graphics card.

nah, the game reads gtx 680 and doesn't know what to do, so it sets everything to low by default. The best way to set any game settings is to try it yourself until you find the graphics/performance point you're comfortable with.

why would the game not recognize a very modern and powerful gpu such as the 680? why would it auto set to low? you have no way to know that is what is happening to him.

Because it happens to me too, and I have an AMD HD 7950 which is as modern as his. The game sets it to low but I can run it on highest settings, just like him. I don't think the auto-detect feature works at all in this game.

I am not complaining but they should have used the CryEngine, made a donate button or kickstarter page, bought the license and then sell the game.

Google says it costs 1.2 million dollars to license, way too much for a small company like BeamNG.

well, if they had used it, imagine how many more people wouldnt have been able to run the game, because there gpu isnt powerfull enough (like me, Desktop #1 in my sig)

i use a laptop 3.1 ghz processor 8 bg ram and a amd radeon 7670m hd 2 gb card i get no lag on dry rock full settings, However i do use a game booster. I recomend the razor game booster it just irons out any little buts of lag i may get when playing games maxed out.
i play games like battlefield 3 alot maxed out no lag at all
