What if there was voice control for the game? You wouldn't have to wait 10 seconds to load everything and click everything, you could just say "beam, spawn a random car"or"beam, go to gridmap" I'm just saying, it would be nice to have voice control.
Um... while it would be neat and much easier to use... I am not sure what kind of programing that would take to accomplish, especially since the names are made up manufactures and it seems like no one pronounces them the same (just watch a few youtube videos and you will notice that most people seem to pronounce them differently). What I thought you were getting at were voice controls for the cars that would have it like the Hirochi or SRB4. That would be pretty neat, but again, I don't know how hard that would be to program.
The devs have done much harder work, like making the core of the game. I'm sure they can do it I agree, but they could make it understand a variety of different ways of speech.
While both points are true... the majority of what the devs have done are physics related. Me being a physics guy can totally understand how everything in the physics engine of beam works and how it is implemented. Speech recognition on the other hand is a compleat other can of worms that no longer really has anything to do with physics (I mean... it does... but not in the sense that I am using here), but analyzing waveforms of particular words and attempting to not only match those waveforms, but then, at the same time, try to filter out any background sounds that might mess with that wave form. Then once that's done, they would have to attempt to not only make it recognize english, but french, german, spanish, italian, and a slew of other languages all with their own accents and words to match. Am I saying that it is impossible? No, not at all... I may be looking at this all wrong and it is actually something extremely easy to implement now that Windows 10 has Cortona. Perhaps that could be tapped into. However, from my current view of the matter (honestly with no research into the subject at all as I just stated) there are many other features that would take precedence over this. (IMHO)
Or more realistically, in the vehicle selector, there could be a button that says... oh i dont know... " Spawn random car" or something. Thats literally the most unrealistic thing i've ever seen on the beamNG forums. Seriously? only the beamNG devs have access to how old the average beamNG "player" is, but i would imagine its somewhere along the lines of 12 or 13. You should be playing Rigs of Rods.
What's so bad about going to the menu and spawning a new car manually? i never thought it was time consuming
The idea is interesting but however wouldn't create much of a positive impact to gameplay yet it would be hard to implement, not much point? It is an interesting thought though.
