So after a few virus scans and Norton Power Eraser, it shows BeamNG as a pretty bad program. I'm pretty sure that's just because it isn't on their registry almost at all, or its some evil program inside a game to distract us. But please, I doubt the second one is even near reality. I just want to know if its because of the amount of usage it practically uses and Norton doesn't think it's safe (but trust me, I ((nor anyone else)) have problems with the game ruining your computer. Just wondering:) thank you :) (whether or not I'm still going to play this no matter what haha)

I have no idea why Norton does what it does, I would suggest uninstalling it honestly lol.

I would but then I would be completely unprotected. I keep an eye on what Norton says is dangerous or not, so I don't delete anything that is actually important haha. But Norton has saved my computer (tried downloading some OLD OLD PC games I played back in the day, completely rigged and fake) and it deleted all the problems that came with it. Computer wasn't starting up properly, had to launch "Explorer" manually, then did some scans and now its back to 100% functionality haha. But yeah, I would like to get a new Anti-virus.

Or, you were saying uninstall BeamNG. Which I shall never do. LOL.

please provide a screenshot of which files norton dislikes, so we can test and fix that problem (we will contact norton for that then).

When my scheduled scan comes on either tomorrow or the next day, I'll snap one. I know it doesn't like the launcher, LUA files, and the BeamNG game file that you would usually use to start the game. Keeps asking if I want to remove it but I always click the box so it isn't selected.

As to everyone else, Maybe when my Norton expires in 8 months I will try Avast or something else:)

Norton isnt the best anti-virus in the world, in fact, its the exact oposite, if you have windows 8, uninstall it, and enable windows defender (Has Microsoft Security Essentials built in, best anti-virus ever made) norton on the other hand, doesnt even scan for malware, i used to have norton, every time i scanned with it, it would say 0 thigns found, if i scanned with anti-malware malwarebytes or windwos defender, it then prceeded to find 5-10 viruses, so yeah, norton sucks, if your on windows 7 or lower howeever, still uninstall norton, and download microsoft security essentials: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/security-essentials-all-versions one of the few windows programs microsoft makes that actually work perfectly for what its made for

Geeze, have you ever concidered that windows defender might have found 5-10 false positives?
This discussion is pointless, OP is using norton, that is his choice, if he wanted advice that would have been what he asked for.

I am also using norton, I have not had any issues with beamNG drive, odd.

they wernt, i looked into them, no one ever heard of them, therefor, they get deleted, and at least windows defender actually detects malware, norton on the other hand, does NOT, so if you want your computer to be infested with malware, then sure, use norton, but if you ever change your mind, i suggest uninstalling, and installing microsoft security essentials if on windows 7 or lower, or enabling windows defender if on windows 8

and, if your on window 8, windows defender does a great job, without having to download a whole entire program, as microsoft secutity esentials is already built into windows defender in windows 8

the pcpro article was posted tomorrow, so unless there time traveler's, i call bull-shit on that website, the howtogeek website however doesnt even show a date, so for all we know, it could have been posted a while back, plus, that still doesnt mean norton is good, it always said all my pc's were clean, EVEN, when, there was CLEARLY, a virus on it, for example, the google toolbar for ie hasnt been updated scince IE6, yet, it showed up in my avail toolbar's in IE10, norton says i dont have a virus, malware-bytes and MSE both detect it as soon as i activated real-time protection, and delete's it, plus, you do realize that any benchmarks that say norton or McAffee are good, are most likeley paid for, right?

    - - - Updated - - -

ALSO, windows defender/mse works best in combo with anti-malware's malwarebytes

    - - - Updated - - -

EDIT: plus, microsoft stated themselves, that they were trying more to be a good anti-malware software, they never said they cared about the virus scan test thingy's, and being at the bottom of some list, doesnt automaticly mean there the worst thing ever made, and like i said earlier, there's this thing, called BRIBES, and no, im not being payed by microsoft, if i was, i wouldnt have an intel hd 2500, i would be running off of a dedicated gpu :p

ALSO, did some research, on pretty much every single forum i asked on, i got a reply similar to this:

    - - - Updated - - -

EDIT 2: also, to put your words back at you "I was expecting someone to be like this" ;)

I always laugh at people hate norton. it seems they are stuck in the days of nod32, or just repeat what other people said like a record.
I have norton360 installed on 2 desktop and 1 laptop, to those who says it is "bloated" or "heavy", currently norton uses 4.5mb of ram which is nothing even if you have only 2gb of ram (I'm sure most people have 4gb and more) scondly norton does great job protecting your computer.

over the years I used avast, avg and windows defender which did their job most of the time...
but once I tried norton 360 I never looked back, SONAR and early lunch anti-Malware are a deadly combo against viruses.
and it goes beyond protecting you against virus/malware it comes with firewall which is suppresses windows firewall by far.

It could be your PC or something. If at any chance you are installing from a third party (not from this website) I suggest not, unless it is commonly used like softonic or something. Anyways, I have norton and I have never experienced the issue you described. (It gave me all kinds of good stuff.. good rating, very new, you know...) But if norton gives you these trust ratings on good programs alot, I don't recommend using it.

and i always laugh at people who actually think norton is good, as no matter how much ram it uses, it still doesnt change the fact, that it doesnt actually detect any form of malware, while MSE, and MalwareBytes does, (which, btw, work perfectly combined together, as the ultimate virus destoryer :D, ever scince i enabled them, ive never gotten a single virus, while with norton, my computer had 5 viruses, while norton said there was NOTHING), i guarentee that if you were to download MSE or Malwarebytes ANTI-Malware, they would find some malware on your pc if Norton says there isnt any, dont belive me, go ask on any decent tech forum, heck, even the MC forums would work, and once again, Microsoft CLEARLY, STATES, that they dont care about ANY, STUPID VIRUS TEST's, also, as for nod32, never heard of it (no really, wth is that?) so if you dont care about viruses and malware stealing your passwords and most likeley ruining your pc, fine, use norton, but honestly, even AVG, or avast would be better then norton, jsut please, dont use norton, its not a good anti-virus, dont like mse or malwarebytes, fine, just, use something decent, like, once again, AVG or Avast, but if you wnat something that's guarentee'd to always work, i suggest MSE (Now known as windows defender in windows 8 and up) and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware

of course you say norton does not work, you are a hater. and no matter what fact will be shoved in your face you will blindly ignore them. (thats what haters do btw)
ever since I installed norton I never had any virus again, and it deletes tracking cookies daily. yet while using other antivirus once in a while I had to format because of one, but no one says norton is perfect, none of the antiviruses/anti malware are perfect, no matter what you are bound to get some viruses on your computer. whether you using any antivirus or not.
